there's some interesting imagery and some unintended rhyming in this :) [also tysm for 2.6k reads!!]

---

sticky, sweet ice cream

dripped from cones

melting onto the pavement

and dissipating instantly

laughter sounded

and a group walked up

brown eyes met blue

and suddenly, i was sucked back

into

black and white tuxedos

and untied bows

hands in hands

on road trips that took us

far away from this

reality

dreamers loving dreamers

coffee-breath mornings

that still tug at my

mind

when the dawn washes its way

over the sky

and the horizon is bathed in

golden

curls threaded through

fingertips

like string through the eye of a

needle

a shot in the dark

that's impossible to make

yet we took it anyway

hoping that our

aim

would hit the bullseye of

"together"

but i'm no archer

and gold curls don't make you

apollo's son

the world dragged us opposite

ways

and our arrow flew astray

hit the target's edge at

"apart"

blue eyes meeting brown brings back

memories

of everything we

had

everything we

used to be.
