or something close to it
i wanted us to have
romance
but all we got was
heartbreak
and i've been looking
at your words
and trying to
see myself in them
but i'm not there
i don't want to think
i loved you more than
i did
but it's hard to keep in
touch
with reality
when we've drifted apart
like relatives who
don't want to see each other
anymore
and in this industry
you don't get far
unless your story is a story
that the big names want to
read
so i'm sorry if i portray you
as my monster or as my
muse
when all you were was a girl
i couldn't hold onto
because though i'm doing my
best not to lose my memories
of you too,
i'm forgetting you.
