THE GRIMM BROTHERS, Ms. Sophie, and Lady Incha are currently having their dinner. Sumusulyap-sulyap ako sa banda ni Master Thirdy habang nakatayo sa may gilid ng hapag. I was expecting he would say something about what happened earlier but he acted as if it's not a big deal. Normal lang ang pagkilos niya habang kumakain. Mayor Juan invited us again to join them for dinner but we refused again kasi may naghihintay sa amin sa staff hall.
Lady Incha found me in Master Thirdy's office front door earlier. She made me follow her to the infirmary where Doctor Sixtho healed my wound. Maliit na sugat lang iyon at natigil na rin sa pagdurugo. Ang sabi ni Doc ay ayos lang na gamitin niya ang ability niya para gamutin iyon dahil hindi naman ganoon kalaki ang makukuha nito sa life force niya.
"This is really delicious. What do you call this again, Una?" baling ni Mayor Juan sa akin. He just finished chewing his food, his utensils still on his hands.
"Pinoy barbecue po, Mayor Juan," nakangiting sagot ko sabay yuko bahagya ng ulo.
"Saan ka natutong magluto? Kay Adele ba?"
"Kay papa po. He's a Filipino chef in Dubai. Tapos si Mama Adele naman tinuturuan din po akong magluto ng mga putahe ng ibang lahi mula sa mortal world saka rito na rin po sa Abseiles."
"Sigurd's also a chef?" pagtataka ni Mayor Juan. Marahil ay inakala niyang si Tatay Sigurd ang tinutukoy kong papa. Umiling agad ako.
"Iyong biological father ko po ang tinutukoy ko."
"Wait, you mean, may naunang asawa si Adele bago si Sigurd?" naguguluhang tanong ni Mayor Juan. Mahaba-habang paliwanagan ito.
"Hindi po. Ampon lang po ako nina Mama Adele at Tatay Sigurd gaya nina Inday Lulu at Kyrine. Mula po ako sa mortal world at gano'n po ang trabaho ng biological father ko roon."
"Oh, really? Where is he? Where's your biological family now?"
I smiled sadly but still replied, "Wala na po sila."
Nasulyapan ko pa si Master Thirdy na natigil sa pagnguya at pinanood kami. Doctor Sixtho looked at me sadly, too.
"I'm so sorry, Una. I didn't know," Mayor Juan apologized sincerely.
"Ayos lang po. Masaya naman ako rito sa bagong pamilya ko."
"Eating together with the other employees seems fun. Can we join them, brother? Can you schedule a dinner with the other staff? I'd like to meet them," Mayor Juan asked Master Thirdy, the hotelier.
"Sure. Lady Incha, can you take care of it?" pakisuyo naman ni Master Thirdy sa aming concierge.
"Wala pong problema. I'll fix the date of that dinner and I will tell the employees about it."
"Thank you so much, Lady Incha," Mayor Juan thanked her.
I really think he tried his best to divert the topic as diplomatic as he can in order not to hurt my feelings further.
