-Three Years Later-

"Hey Aaron! It's been so long! Twenty-one now, right?"

Hearing a voice call out to me, I slowly turned around to face whoever was calling me. As I spun on my heels, I was greeted by a familiar face. Professor Sycamore was wearing his usual over-sized lab coat, a half smile on his face as he closed the distance between us.

I couldn't remember the last time we had spoken. Becoming Champion meant that the routes our lives took would start to separate. However, the Professor was someone I could trust, so this must have been somewhat important.

"I see you're about to leave again, but there's something you need to know before you fly out to Sinnoh with your friends."

There was a momentary silence as I analysed the Professor's stern face. It wasn't often he had such a serious look on his face as he was always a jovial and passionate man. I nodded silently before turning over my right shoulder to call out to my partner.

"Dragonite, you should come hear this too."

As I called out to the dragon pokemon, there was a rustling in the bushes to my right as Dragonite calmly stepped out. I noticed that she had a pecha berry in her left hand and was already halfway through eating another. I couldn't help but smile.

Every time we came to this area of the park, the whole team has found all sorts of delicious berries so it had become our one quiet place in the city. After all, the endless media attention wasn't something that I had particularly signed up for.

Dragonite joined me by my side, focusing her attention on what Professor Sycamore was saying.

"I know we shouldn't meet here unless necessary, but this is important information. About your journey to Sinnoh..."

"I guess it couldn't stay a secret. But what do you need to tell me?"

"Team Galactic have been on the rise but from what we can tell the media hasn't leaked anything just yet-"

Quickly, I cut the Professor off. I reminded him to quiet his voice and to not speak about this topic in public, without exception.

"Right, right, I understand. I know you'll have no problems working out a solution, you're the Champion after all. Tomorrow, bring everyone to the lab and we'll be able to provide you with everything you need."

With that, the Professor had delivered his message. Tomorrow evening we would be flying out to Sinnoh. That meant it would be our last time in Kalos for who knows how many years. Soon enough, Dragonite and I were left alone, in the clearing.

"I guess this is it for a while, huh."

Dragonite nodded in agreement, sharing the same thoughts. I looked over to her, a smile on my face as I stood up from the tree I was sat under. The dim evening sun glinted through the trees, lighting my eyes in the sunshine.

"We've been waiting for another adventure and here it is."

Later

"Aaron, you're finally back! You sure took your time out there."

As I stepped through the door, I was greeted by a familiar light blonde haired girl. She was lying across one of the sofas in the living room, directly across from the door I had just walked through.
