"Aaron! Focus on Deoxys, I've got Saturn."

The blunette had already taken action, unfazed by the presence of this powerful pokemon. Soon enough, she was battling against the Team Galactic Commander.

Another cry from Deoxys caught my attention. I couldn't afford to look away because this pokemon only seemed to care about me. Slowly, I let out a short breath, composing myself before I reached for my pokeball.

I released Ninetails from her pokeball, the ice pokemon analysing her opponent. Deoxys didn't seem fazed by this but once it recognised its opponent, he focused on the snow fox.

"Blizzard Ninetails!"

As the ice pokemon launched her powerful attack, her opponent didn't make any effort to move. Instead, it started to change shape, its body rearranging itself to take the attack. As the ice move hit and the smoke cleared, I could see that Deoxys had changed to its defense form and was unscathed by the earlier attack.

"Blizzard again!"

Once again, Ninetails directed her attack at her opponent but this time, it was already on the move. Deoxys changed form once again, now slimmer and much faster. With its improved agility, the DNA pokemon easily evaded the attack, launching its own psychic move in return.

Ninetails barely evaded the attack, Deoxys' speed now a problem for us. Our opponent's unpredictability made it a difficult task for us but I could tell that the snow fox was up to the challenge.

"Moonblast Ninetails!"

Before the snow fox could launch her attack, Deoxys launched another psychic move, directly hitting Ninetails causing him to fall to the ground.

The ice type stood back up on her feet, her eyes narrowing as she focused on her opponent. However, Deoxys speed still remained a problem. Now, the psychic type had transformed into its attack form, preparing another attack.

"Blizzard Ninetails!"

Deoxys countered the ice move with an equally impressive zap cannon attack. The two moves cancelled each other out but as the dust cleared, we had lost sight of our opponent.

Then from the sky, Deoxys fired another psychic move, Ninetails unable to avoid from her blindside. Somehow, the ice type managed to withstand the attack, but I couldn't afford to keep this up. Deoxys' speed gave the battle another dimension of difficulty but I knew that I had the pokemon to deal with it.

Sceptile emerged from his pokeball, already knowing what to do. His eyes were fixed on his opponent and even as Deoxys moved with great speed, the forest pokemon was right behind it.

"Dragon pulse Sceptile!"

As I called out the move, Deoxys launched a psychic move in an attempt to catch us off guard. However, Sceptile was able to keep up, evading the attack before landing a direct hit with the dragon move. Before we could continue to assault, Deoxys had changed to its attack form once again, landing a powerful psycho boost from close range.

Sceptile was launched backward, crashing into the ground. I could tell Deoxys was feeling the effects of the dragon move, as its offensive forms left it open to counter attacks.

The forest pokemon returned to his feet, a large bruise on Sceptile's arm from where he tried to block the attack. I could see that his skin was a little burned from the insane amount of energy Deoxys poured into its moves.

Deoxys returned to the battle, charging forward as it focused its energy on its head. Sceptile was able to avoid the psychic move, but his opponent was ready for him as he made his move. The forest pokemon cut into Deoxys with successive leaf blade attacks but returned fire with a close range zen headbutt.

The two finally separated, the psychic pokemon clearly tired from the battle. Sceptile was also tired out but I could tell he wasn't finished here.

"Leaf storm Sceptile!"

As we called out the finishing move, Deoxys changed into its defense form, taking the attack well. Then, in the blink of an eye, it had transformed into its speed form. At great speed, the psychic pokemon flew across the clearing, landing another zen headbutt attack.

Before the battle could spiral out of my control, I recalled the forest pokemon. I could tell that Deoxys couldn't continue the fight for long but I knew not to underestimate such a powerful pokemon. Just as I reached for my next pokeball, I noticed another twitch ever so slightly.

A small smile crept onto my face as I reached for the pokeball that moved. I knew not to deny the thrill of battle from a pokemon who wanted nothing more than to prove how strong they were. Drakloak emerged from the pokeball, ready to take on the legendary pokemon before him.

"Drakloak, use hydro pump!"

The dragon pokemon fired a torrential stream of water at its target, but Deoxys was able to avoid the attack. Now in its speed form, the psychic pokemon was too fast for Drakloak as he was directly hit with a psycho boost attack. He returned to the action quickly, unfazed by the first attack.

Once more, Deoxys charged forward, ready with its zen headbutt attack. However, Drakloak was able to phase through the attack, unharmed. At first the psychic pokemon was confused but when it realised what happened, it circled back for another attack. As before, the ghost type phased through the attack, this time able to connect a dragon pulse.

Deoxys crumbled to the floor once more but wasn't through with the battle. Now, it was clear that it was on its last legs but this was when a pokemon was most dangerous. The DNA pokemon surged forward in its speed form, connecting a zap cannon attack.

Even though the move wasn't effective, Drakloak's fatigue was starting to add up now. He was struck directly with the move, unable to evade. The dragon type's body started to seize up, zap cannon's secondary ability coming into play.

The dragon type let out a cry of pain, falling to the floor. My eyes flared up and I could see how much Drakloak wanted to prove his strength to the rest of the team. His aura began to flare up and his body became engulfed in a bright blue light. The dragon type grew greatly in size, its fins now much larger than before.

As the light faded, the dragon type was revealed to have evolved into its final stage. Letting out an unyielding roar, Dragapult was ready to fight.

"Alright Dragapult, use phantom force!"

In an instant, the stealth pokemon disappeared from sight. Before Deoxys could even react, the dragon type emerged from the shadows, connecting the super effective move. The psychic type was struggling but still returned to the skies, hovering in the air. It changed into its speed form in an attempt to gain leverage in the battle. But, Dragapult was able to easily keep pace with his opponent, connecting a hydro pump attack to finish the battle.

As Deoxys crashed into the ground, its body reverted back to the form of the meteorite. It was no longer giving off a bright blue glow but I could still feel the energy resonating from within. Carefully, I picked up the meteorite, wrapping it under a hoodie before placing it into my bag. Surprisingly, the glowing rock was as light as a feather, it's appearance deceiving of its weight.

I looked up, seeing Dawn make her way towards me. Her Empoleon was by her side but the frustrated look on her face told me everything. She had won the battle, but Saturn was able to get away. After I explained everything about Deoxys and the meteor to her, the blunette added that such a pokemon hadn't even been sighted in the Sinnoh region before now.

"I'm getting the feeling that there's more to this than we know. If Team Galactic has access to legendary pokemon then they might already be too far ahead."

Dawn shook her head, disagreeing with my words. "Even with these powerful pokemon, it'll take more than that for them to slow us down. We should get out of here, we've got someone to meet at Celestic Town."

As she explained what we need to do next, the two of us made our way out of the clearing, through the tunnel and then out of the ruins. Celestic Town was our next destination.
