Rosetta's POV:

20th December

Yesterday was the last school day before the start of the holiday, so people are getting even more excited about the upcoming ball.
Oh and update on the Potter situation, he still hasn't asked so today I'm going to have to say I'll go with Lockhart aren't I, I can't go on my own when I said I was going with Potter, I could say Potter cancelled on me or something.

I walk down the stairs and into the common room to see Rem is sitting on a sofa reading in the corner whilst Potter, Pettigrew and Sirius sit at the other side of the room probably planning there next pranks.
"Morning" he looks up
"Morning"
"I'm going to speak to Lockhart, i can't turn up to the ball alone when i said I had a date it'd be so embarrassing more embarrassing than actually having to ask someone"
"Why don't you ask James?" He asks taking me by surprise, okay that is ridiculous
"Why don't you ask Sirius?" He hums
"Okay if I ask Sirius then you have to ask James" he holds out his hand, and I know Remus is really nervous around his boyfriend and wouldn't ask him before Sirius would, and that is the only reason I shake his hand

Now I know what your thinking Sirius and Remus are dating so why hasn't Sirius asked Remus, well Sirius doesn't want to go to the ball in the first place so he said the only way he would go is if Remus asked him himself, which I think is clever on Sirius' part because there's no way Remus will ask him.

"Where are you going?" I ask Remus as I see him get up but he walks past me and goes towards Sirius, oh no. After a bit of chatting back and forth Remus kisses Sirius and then comes back over to me.
"Your turn" he shrugs
"You have got to be kidding me, you've been so nervous about that"
"You motivated me" he chuckles "right go, you shook on it" I get up trying to seem confident but I'm shaking with nerves on the inside

I approach the other marauders and then I clear my throat to get there attention
"Hey" all three of them chorus, get it together Rose, come on, spit it out
"Potter can I errr speak to er you" I stutter clumsily over my words
"Sure" he gets up confidently and we walk out of the common room to get some privacy "so what's up?" He asks, I take a deep breathe and spit it out very quickly

James POV: it's been a while

It's clear she's nervous about whatever it is she wants to ask/tell me. She takes a deep breathe and then splutters out, very quickly, what she wants
"Willyougotothechristmasballwithme?" I try to catch what she says but it comes out very quickly
"I'm sorry, what was that?" I ask confused, she takes another deep breathe and slows her speech
"Will you go to the Christmas ball with me?" She asks and then she holds her breathe whilst looking anywhere but at me, wait she asked me to the ball, what is happening? I'm so confused, alternate reality maybe. Polyjuice potion, perhaps
"James" Rose grabs my attention
"Sorry, just shocked"
"You know what never mind" she goes to walk off but I grab her wrist and then take both off her hands into mine
"I would love to go with you Rose" she smiles slightly
"Thanks, I just really didn't want to go with Lockhart"
"Fair enough" I nod feeling slightly offended that that is the only reason she asked me.

Rose then re-enters the common room and walks over to Moony whilst I re-join Padfoot, and wormtail.

Sirius' POV: surprise

Okay I don't know what Evans told him but he's acting like a lovesick puppy
"What's wrong with you?" He sighs dreamily, watching Rose sit next to Moony "prongs" I click my fingers and he looks over at me and wormtail, I wait for him to tell us whilst I take a large sip of my pumpkin juice
"She asked me to the ball" the juice comes out of my mouth as I splutter, I quickly use my wand to clear up the mess I made and then look up at Prongs
"She what?"
"She didn't want to go with Lockhart so she asked me" he explains
"Never thought I'd see the day" James sighs again watching Rose with the same lovesick look on his face and I groan and start up a conversation with Wormtail instead.

Rosetta's POV:

"That was horrible" i start "so embarrassing"
"But he said yes?" He questions
"Yeah" I zone out "argh this was so stressful"

Wait I have to go to the ball with James, now I'm worrying for a whole other reason.

I hope you enjoyed this short ish chapter Rose finally asked James and he of course said yes but it'll be interesting to see how the dance goes
