63 - why now?

Rosetta's POV:

19th Feb

My brain feels a little mushed.

Like I'm not really thinking.

"Ro!" I gasp awake at the sound of my brothers voice in my head to find myself outside once again.

Why is this happening now, I keep waking up outside of the castle in the cold, but I've never woke up somewhere else due to sleepwalking in the past, it's never been a factor for me, yet now I can't stop and worse again the more it happens the longer it takes me to realise the state I'm in.

I once again sneak around the castle making sure not to get caught, I enter the common room and go up to my dorm being careful not to make a sound. I get into bed but I just sit there scared it'll happen again.

20th Feb

After I got back into bed last night I didn't sleep a wink so I'm exhausted when I finally pull myself out of bed during the early hour of 6.

Since it's so early and my lessons start at 9 I head to the library where I pick up a few random books and start to flip through them for a couple of hours.

I yawn.

I don't remember falling asleep.

8:10. Crap!

I scramble out of my seat and head for the great hall as quickly as my little legs can carry me.

Once I make it into the great hall, the tables are bustling with students and I put my head down embarrassed by my hectic entrance and walk over to my seat which is, as usual, situated next to James.

"Morning" I mumble as my stomach rumbles loudly
"Someone's hungry" James chuckles as he passes over some toast
"Thanks" I mutter quickly before I start putting some on my plate and then begin eating
"And where have you been princess?" Reg asks curiously
"Stop flirting with my girl Regulus" Reg winks at me as I start to speak
"I was in the library" I explain
"Shocker" Reggie snickers, I roll my eyes
"You seem to be in there a lot in the mornings, are you okay?" Rem speaks up from across the table
"Just struggling to sleep" I shrug "it happens" I feel James' eyes on me but I try to ignore it as I continue to eat
I am grateful when Kayla decides to break the awkward silence asking
"We have potions first right?" I look up meeting her eyes
"Yep, with the Slytherins" I add
"The horror" Kayla smirks
"Hey!!" Reg exclaims "I think you forget I'm a Slytherin" he crosses his arms
"It may say that on your robes but we've practically adopted you at this point, I mean the teachers don't even bother asking you to sit at the Slytherin table anymore" I shrug
"Humph" he makes a weird thinking sound
"And I'm sure Dumbledore knows you stay in the Gryffindor common room at night yet he hasn't mentioned it"
"She's right, Dumbledore prides himself on knowing the ins and outs of this school, every little bit of gossip; there's only a slim chance he doesn't know" Remus adds to the conversation, I nod in agreement

After we all finish eating it's 8:50 so me, Reg and Kayla say goodbye as we head to the dungeons for our potions lesson
"Arghhh I hate potions"
"You say that every time Kayla" I remind her as Reg wraps his arm around her waist making me feel like a third wheel
"Besides you have us to help you out" Reggie nudges Kayla
"Not in the exams she won't" Reg rolls his eyes at me causing me to do the same

"Hello you three, first ones here again, come on in" Professor Slughorn opens the door for us and we walk over to our table at the front of the class, once we sit down more students begin to enter the room a couple at a time.

When the lesson starts I already feel sleepy and exceedingly bored, the class goes by as quick as a click of the fingers, so before I know it I'm leaving the room with my two friends wondering what the heck we did, or what I should have done, in that lesson.

Time skip

My other three lessons go by so slowly that by the time it comes to getting dinner I feel like it's already 11pm

"Hi" I yawn as I join Reg at the Gryffindor table
"Someone looks tired" he responds as I yawn again dropping my head to the table.

I pick my head up so quickly when I hear other voices that I get a head rush and it takes me a few seconds to regain my composure
"Rosie, gorgeous, are you okay?" James? I don't remember him arriving, he must have spotted my confusion as he swiftly explains what's going on
"You've been asleep for like half an hour baby"
"Huh?" I question groggily
"You weren't exaggerating this morning when you said you haven't been sleeping well at night were you?" He asks, I shake my head softly
"What's going on?" Reggie asks

errrm well guys I've started sleepwalking at night, I keep waking up outside the castle in the freezing cold and then I have to sneak past Filch to get back into bed but when I get there I'm too scared it'll happen again that I don't sleep

I can't exactly say that so I settle on something a little less embarrassing

"Nightmares, recurring nightmares"
"Aw baby I'm sorry" I lay my head gently on James' shoulder, luckily because I'm so tired the contact I'm initiating doesn't make me feel self-conscious so I just stay there for a little while before we all head to the Gryffindor common room.

"You should go upstairs to bed Ro" James recommends

But what if I end up sleepwalking downstairs whilst your all awake, that'd be embarrassing.

"Yeah okay, Goodnight guys" they all chorus Goodnight as I start to walk up the stairs but before I can make it to my dorm I bump into my sister

"Hey Ro, you okay?" I think for a second before I ask
"Can I talk to you?" Lily, being as smart as she is, quickly spots that there's something wrong so she nods and follows me into my dorm "what's going on?" She asks
"I can't sleep at the minute" I start cautiously
"Why not?"
"Im terrified" this grabs my sisters attention
"Why? Did someone hurt you? Is it James?"
"Of course not!" I snap defensively, I sigh trying to calm down my breathing "James is amazing he wouldn't hurt me" my sister nods and gestures me to carry on "I've started sleepwalking"
"That's it, that can be a normal thing for some" Lily tells me
"No Lils, I keep ending up outside the castle in some kind of trance, the more it happens the longer it takes me to figure out what's going on, I'm worried what will happen if I get to wherever it wants me to go" I breath out panicking slightly as tears build up in my eyes
"Wait you think somethings trying to summon you at night whilst your asleep?" Lils tries to understand, I nod
"Yesterday it was Rory's voice that pulled me out of the sleepwalking trance, but what if he's not there to help, there's something wrong with me"
"You should tell Dumbledore" Lils answer to everything when we're at school
"What will he do?" I ask exasperated
"I don't know what to tell you, I've never heard of anything like it which is why you should tell Professor Dumbledore" I know she won't stop with this which is why I say
"I'll think about it"
"I'll have a look in the library tomorrow for anything of any use and you know the heads dorm is open to you or my dorm depending on where I'm staying"
"Wait you don't always stay in the heads dorm?" I ask surprised, this is news to me
"No, James can be annoying" she explains
"He's not always there either, he sometimes likes to stay with Rem, Sirius and Peter" I wonder aloud
"I know, that's when I stay in our dorm" I roll my eyes "of course" she chuckles
"If you need anything you know where to find me, now try to get some sleep" she instructs
"Okay Goodnight"
"Goodnight" we share a quick hug before she goes to leave, I turn towards my bed but then I hear the door open again "if you trust James so much why haven't you told him?" I turn to face her
"He worries more than you do" I explain truthfully, she nods and leaves shutting the door quietly behind her.

Putting my pyjamas on I just hope it doesn't happen again tonight, I want a good night sleep, please.
