Rosetta's POV:

"Could you imagine? Our teachers would have a heart attack"
"Next generation of marauders would cause panic, let's have kids at the same time?!" Kayla suggests
"Not a chance" I reply.
Someone entering the common room hurriedly draws our attention and to our complete surprise Mcgonagall enters the room looking around
"Miss Evans there you are, come with me" I nod and get up waving to the others as I follow
"What is this about if you mind me asking Professor?" I ask curious
"It's best if your sister tells you"
"Lily's here!" I squeak surprised
"She arrived in a right state I'm afraid and she won't talk to us just said she wanted one of her siblings, I went to you first as I know how close you two are"  I nod.

I become nervous when we arrive outside Professor Dumbledore's office as I don't know what going on and what's up with my sister.
"Berty Botts" Mcgonagall announces clearly and the statue begins to turn allowing the stairs to appear. "Go ahead Miss Evans" Mcgonagall gestures for me to go first. I start walking up and when Mcgonagall does the same the stairs start to move up themselves so we wait till we reach the door. I knock on and Dumbledore's opens the door
"Miss Evans I'm glad your here, your sisters up there" he gestures to up the stairs into the rest of his office
"Thank you" I nod as I start going up, I can already hear her sobbing. I spot her sat on a chair crying into her arms, head on the desk. "Lily?" She looks up, jumps up and grabs me, pulling me to a big hug as she sobs harder, I sit her down again and I sit next to her "what's going on?" I ask
"There was so many of them"
"So many of what?" I ask not following
"We tried to fight back, they're too strong. She protected me. Dies in my arms" the look of horror must have been clear in my face as I watch her
"Okay Lily talk me through it" she sobs harder "I can't do anything about this, nor can anyone else if we don't know" I tell her truthfully and she gulps trying to regain some composure once she does she starts to speak
"There was an attack in Diagon alley, Me, Alice, Marlene and Frank were sent with some other aurors. We tried to fight them off but there was just so many of them and-" she gulps back her tears "I was fighting someone and I heard someone fire a spell, I turn to see someone had aimed it at me but I was in shock still trying to fight off the other and before I know it, she falls to the ground"
"Who fell to the ground?" I ask her albeit reluctantly
"Marl-le-ne" she chokes out
"No" my heart stops, someone who I've known for that long and she's dead just like that.
"The death eaters laughed, they were laughing!" She growls
"Lily I'm so sorry" I hug her "where's her body?"
"The older aurors got us out of there before it got any messier but I saw one of the death eaters grab her" she howls in emotional pain
"Oh my dear what is it?" Mcgonagall arrives along with Dumbledore
"We need to get to Diagon Alley" i tell them as I move them away from Lily
"Why Miss Evans?" Dumbledore asks as he eyes my sister
"A girl was murdered" Mcgonagall gasps placing a hand over her pity as Dumbledores head hangs
"Who?"
"Marlene McKinnon" I tell them
"Oh no" Mcgonagall looks as if she'd already seen her dead body, "I'll go, we need to bury the girl, hold a funeral for her" Mcgonagall suggests
"We need it" I nod agreeing
"Don't go alone Minerva" Dumbledore instructs
"I'll take the marauders there aurors now" she suggests
"Good idea" The headmaster nods
"I want to go" I tell them
"No Miss Evans please take your sister to Madam Pomfrey to check her over" I nod solemnly

"Come on Lily"

James' POV:

"I wonder what they wanted Rose for, she's been gone a while"

Knock
Knock

We're taken by surprise when someone comes into the common room quickly again

"You three come with me" Mcgonagall instructs. We follow her to Dumbledore's office
"Where's Rose?" I ask before they can speak
"She's caring for her sister there's no need to worry James" Dumbledore tells me
"What's wrong with Lily?" Moony asks
"Well let me tell you why your here and then you'll understand. Miss Evans, Miss McKinnon and Frank and Alice Longbottom went with some aurors to Diagon alley to fight off a deatheater attack only one of them didn't make it." He explains
"Sadly Miss McKinnon lost her life saving Miss Evans, we sadly don't have her body as they had to escape quickly and the death eaters grabbed her so you are going with Minerva to find it and retrieve it so we can put her to rest properly" we nod.

I zone out a bit as Moony cries and Padfoot pats him on the back seeming shocked.
"I know Miss McKinnon was important to you all since she was in your house and in your year but I am going to need you to be professional when going with Minerva" we nod as Moony tries to get it together.

We separate to Diagon Alley, it's quiet, to quiet. There are many shops with smashed windows, people trying to tidy up the mess and blood from gashes but nothing too serious here.

We turn a corner and I hold my stomach trying not to be sick, I hear Moony sob and Padfoot gasp. Her body is scratched up, she has clearly been dragged here to be disposed of. Mcgonagall turns the girl over and I have to turn around not being able to stomach the sight,
"Let's leave and I'll have some aurors sent here to help clean up the mess" she puts her hand on the body and apparates, we quickly do the same.

"Albus!" Dumbledore comes into his main office and sees the state of the girl
"Oh dear, poor girl" he states softly "we shall say a few words for her during dinner tonight, she needs a Hogwarts send off and I will get in touch with her parents and let them have her body" we all nod and leave casting one more look at the girl we once knew. The sassy girl who would always speak her mind no matter how much you wished she wouldn't.

Timeskip to dinner
Rosetta's POV:

"May I have your attention" I rub Lily's back as Dumbledore stands "A terrible tragedy has fallen upon us today a Hogwarts graduate was killed whilst fighting to save others from the death eaters that attacked Diagon Alley early this morning." He states "Marlene McKinnon. She will be remembered by us all, we will carry her with us, always." He pauses "Her spirit lives with us, her kind heart, her remarks, her spark. Let's raise a glass to Marlene McKinnon you will be missed." We raise our glasses for our old friend.
