72 - Torture

Rosetta's POV:

May 17th

It takes a while before I actually manage to open my eyes, though doing so doesn't help me in identifying the place at all.

All I can figure out is that this place, this little room is a cell, in a basement.

It's so cold.

It's so dark.

It's so damp.

And I'm so alone.

Though I don't regret pushing James out of the way, me over him any day.

I hear whispers a few cells down from me but I can't make out any words and I'm not sure I want to know who's there.

"Well, well, well, look who's finally woken up" a man in a mask and a black cloak very much like the people who grabbed me in the first place, to be fair he could be one of them, taunts me through the metal bars.

"What do you want from me?" I growl
"What makes you think I'll answer any of your questions?" He chuckles darkly
"I'm locked here who would I tell" he snorts before surprisingly unlocking the cage door
"Come on, you try to run; I won't hesitate to use the cruciatus curse on you" he snarls in my face, I try not to show my fear
"Been there, felt that" I snap as I leave the confined space waiting for him to lead me to wherever I'm supposed to be going.

He grasps my arms, making sure to dig his claw like nails into my skin as he begins to drag me down the corridor.

My arm quickly becomes numb as he squeezes it further, I'm surprised it hasn't come off.

Without any warning I'm shoved to the floor.

"That's her, the girl who managed to escape me" a silky yet sickly soft voice whispers, a shiver moves up my spine, I feel a freezing cold hand lift my chin and I come face to face with you-know-who, I don't manage to hide the fear when I gulp. "Rosetta I believe" he hisses like a snake metaphorically speaking (though we know he can literally do that as well 🤣) "how did a little girl, such as yourself, elude me?" I shudder when he utters my name "a mudblood who has so much power built into her tiny form  it's baffling" I freeze when he says about my gifts "your brother was probably less afraid than you are and he was just a child though you did manage to avoid me so perhaps your smarter" I don't hold back
"What do you know of my brother?!" I snap standing up but he merely grins a disgusting smile
"You foolish girl!" He exclaims as the masked man from before yanks me back down by my wrist. "Show us" he snarls in my face, I shake my head not trusting my voice "show us!" He raises his wand and I can't hold back the tears
"Please" I whisper wishing someone would get me out of here. The man behind me presses his wand against my neck.
"Show me!" You-know-who screams and I visibly shudder, I shake my head once again "crucio" my whole body feels like it's set alight as I shake falling to the floor in a fit of screams, I dig my nails into my skin to try to redirect the pain but it doesn't work.

After a couple of minutes I'm released from the spell and I stop thrashing but my body feels sore like it's been scratched up by a rabid animal.

"Show me" he hissed once again but when I don't reply I'm hit again, I let out a horrific scream as I writhe on the floor starting to feel nauseous.

It's left on me for longer this time, around five minutes give or take, but when I'm released my stomach continues to feel uneasy. I wretch before emptying my stomach in front of me, my head spins.

The people in the room look at me disgusted but I can't find it in me to care.

"Bring him" I hear but I'm not sure who said it as my vision blurs.

"Let go it's not like I'm going anywhere" I hear a very familiar voice enter the room "what is this about?" I'm not sure what happened then as I try not to throw up again. "Rose" I know that voice, I very slowly raise my head and squint to get a look at the boy
"Make her show us her gifts or we'll use the cruciatus curse again, we'll kill her if she's of no use" someone snaps
"Rose" I hear the soft caring tone and I look up and squint causing a sharp pain to travel through my head as I meet the eyes of ........ my brother. "You need to do it Rose"
"I can't" I sob as I try to shake the image of my brother, he can't be here
"You need to, they will hurt you"
"You don't think I know that; look at me" he looks down seeing the mess on the floor
"Please Ro" he begs
"Your not getting it I can't control it, I don't practice anymore" Rory looks up meeting the eyes of you-know-who who looks frustrated
"Crucio!" He yells, I brace for impact but it never comes though I hear someone scream
"Rory! No! Please!" I yell trying to get to my feet but my legs are like jelly. My brothers here and I'm causing him pain again I can't let him down; not again.

He shudders as he collapses to the floor
"Rory!" I crawl over to him trying to help him but there's nothing I can do, I start to panic feeling sorry for my brother, I am that dizzy I don't notice when the room starts to shake with me

"Excellent" you-know-who smirks eerily and I turn to my brother which calms me when I notice the spells been lifted "take them both away" he instructs "training starts tomorrow" he whispers into my ear, causing me to look at the ground.

Me and my brother are lead back to the dungeon where we're shoved into two different cells opposite each other.

"I tried to look for you" I stutter looking at my brother
"I know, besides it's not like we had no contact we've been chatting for almost the past year, on and off; you know depending on when there are nightmares or not" he shrugs as he yawns

Sometime after that I manage to collapse into a deep sleep, clearly the curses took all of my strength.

I hope my friends and family are okay.

She's finally found Rory, well she was kidnapped by the same people so they brought her to him but she still technically found him.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, I feel so bad for the both of them, we'll get round to a bit of Rory's story in the next chapter.
