122 - A dream come true

Rosetta's POV:

The past week or so has been so relaxing, exams over and I'm not joining some suicidal group, so I'm feeling great, well I do worry about the others who have joined the group but that's their choice I can't force them not to.

I skip happily to the Great hall where the end of year feast is in full swing since I'm late and the cup will have already been awarded.
"Hey Kayla" Kayla just grins at me but says nothing "what?" I ask smiling yet confused

"May I have your attention" Dumbledore asks and we face the front but I hear Kayla squeal slightly and I turn and frown at her before turning back to the front "now we wouldn't usually allow this but this couple has been the talk of the school for years after the many many shows of affection in public at Quidditch games and start of year feasts" i shrug "so can I have Rosetta Evans the head girl come to the front please" I look at everyone a little nervous, though I'm more curious so I get up and stand near him
"What?" I ask laughing increasingly confused as he steps away "what's happening?" I look at everyone around the room until I see James enter "what are you doing?" I mouth shaking my head
"For years I tried to get this one girls attention" he speaks allowing his wand to make his voice louder by pointing it at his throat "yet she didn't give me the time" my mouth opens in shock "and everyone, and I do mean everyone including my teachers said I should give up but you'll find I'm quite persistent" I nod "so let's just say I'm doing this in public as my way to say I told you so" he approaches me and I shake my head laughing
"What are you doing?" I look out at everyone who is staring at us but when I look back James has gone down on one knee "what are you doing?" I ask a little nervous
"Rosetta Evans will you marry me?" I burst out laughing much to everyone's confusion but then I say
"Yes" I nod as I continue laughing, a nervous habit I promise, I haven't lost my mind. James grins and slips the ring onto my finger. "It's so pretty" I look around at all the faces and then I look behind me and see Mcgonagall wiping away a tear
"Congratulations" the hall erupts into applause as I go to head back to my seat but James picks me up bridal style making everyone laugh. He seats me at the Gryffindor table and eventually everyone goes back to doing there own thing.
I shake my head
"What?" James asks innocently
"Did you have to make it so extravagant?"
"You know me, I like to make an impression, besides I also wanted to show you how much you've changed" i eye him curiously
"I haven't changed" I shake my head
"You've become so much more social, you didn't have a panic attack. When we first started dating two years ago you were terrified of being in a crowd now you have a lot of friends and can stand in front of a whole hall of people and act natural even if your a little nervous. I wanted to show you how proud I am of you and how much I love you" I realise now how much a big proposal meant to me, he's right, having these guys as my friends and boyfriend, well fiancé now, I have a support system so I can handle situations better than I used to be able to.
"I love you" I kiss him softly
"I love you to future Mrs Potter"
"Oh that sounds so weird" I laugh

Timeskip

We get off the train and I run, no joke, run through the wall
"Hi" I jump on my sister and then embrace my parents once I pull away Rory, Rosalie and James have appeared
"Let me see" mum asks as she looks at my hand
"You know?" I ask surprised
"I wouldn't have asked if I didn't have your parents blessing" James tells me
"Your so cute" I shake my head laughing
"Right have we got everyone?" Mum asks
"Wait are you staying?" I ask James and he nods
"I moved into my own flat so since we're not sharing a room we thought since you've stayed with him at his house he could stay with you at yours" I grin
"Okay"
"Which will also be great as we plan the wedding" my mother beams
"Of course" I put on a posh voice as we start walking to the exit of the train station
"It's nice to see you Rosalie"
"You too Mrs Evans"
"Oh please it's Penelope dear" mum responds
"Okay Penelope"

We arrive at the house and we put our things away
"I can't believe I've finished school" I comment as I hang my clothes int he wardrobe
"We're starting a new chapter now" he kisses my head.
"Dinner!" Mum calls
"Come on" I take his hand and pull him out of the room.
