Lori stood in front of a mirror as she flattened the front of her champagne dress, she leaned forward grabbing a necklace she had snagged from a jewelry shop and put it on. She felt a chill run down her spine, she felt something off. She nearly jumped when Klaus walked in shutting the door behind him with a thud."Something doesn't feel right" Lori whispered as Klaus came behind her, "relax love it's just the nerves, once your out there partying they'll go away" Klaus said as he took the folded shaw and unraveled it. "You've said that the last four parties" Lori sighed, Klaus ignored her wrapping the shaw around her back. "You'll be fine" Klaus said meeting her eyes in the mirror, Lori scowled "i never did like parties".
"Your family never did parties?" Klaus asked with a hint of amusement, "they weren't parties, they were more like...gatherings" Lori said with a small smile on her lips as she turned around. "Gatherings?" Klaus prompted Lori let out a soft giggle remembering the memories "i think we have a party to attend" she changed the subject. Klaus smirked before offering his arm as Lori gratefully took it.
They walked out the door and down the staircase already seeing tons of people inside, though what surprised Lori the most was when she walked outside and there where dozens of people all crowding the stage where the band was playing. Klaus led Lori towards the back of the stage as both of them climbed up the stairs a spot light following there every move. As anxious as Lori was to be in front such a big crowd she kept a smile on her face, and her steps confident.
"Good evening everyone" Klaus called which made everyone break out into cheers, "i want to thank you all for being here with me to celebrate" again the crowd broke out into cheers. "It's been a long time coming" Klaus concluded, after his little speech Klaus walked Lori down the stage while the band continued to play music. Klaus spotted Stefan and excused him self "don't pout i'll be back get us drink won't you?" Klaus left Lori standing in the middle of a crowded "dance floor" she sighed turning and heading inside.
Lori picked up a cup filling it up with a bottle of a bright red liquid, she smelled it finding it didn't give off any smell at all. She shrugged her shoulders before taking a large gulp, after about four seconds her throat began to burn from the after sensation and she found herself not being able to drink more, as she put the cup down with a face of disgust.
"Not much of a drinker?" she turned finishing the person she expected the least "Tyler right?" Lori asked with a friendly smile. "The one and only, Klaus's first hybrid" he said with a smirk, "is that your pick up line or something?" Lori responded which made both of them break out into laughter. They were interrupted by Klaus walking over "could i have a private word with Lori" Klaus asked turning to Tyler. "Of course, see you around" he said to Lori which she responded with a soft smile.
"He seems like a nice guy" Lori said observing Tyler leave, the smile faded when she turned to see Klaus's anxious face. "What's wrong" Lori asked instinctively bringing her hand up to his forearm. "Stefan's hiding something, he claims Mikael's dead but i don't believe him for a second" Klaus explained looking around. Lori's eyebrows furrowed in confusion "they were looking for him in order to kill you,,and then they kill him?" Lori said trailing off.
"Somethings going on" Klaus said meeting Lori's worried gaze, she could feel it in her bones.

Klaus and Lori stood next to a table were Klaus and Lori were about to win cup pong until a hybrid walked up to Klaus, "you have a visitor" she said. "Well tell my visitor i'm on the brink of victory here" Klaus dismissed, "he said his name is Mikael" the hybrid tried again. At the name Lori visibly tensed, Klaus tossed the last ball into one of the cups before turning to Lori offering his hand "then we mustn't keep him waiting" he said before they begin to walk towards the main entrance.
"Move everyone outback, i'm going to have a little chat with my dad" Klaus said as they parted ways with the hybrid. They got to the door and Lori stopped as Klaus took one final step forward, "hello Niklaus" Mikael greeted. "Hello Mikael, won't you come in? Oh that's right you can't" Klaus said with a tone of amusement, "or you could come outside if you want" Mikael fired back. Lori could feel the air get thicker as well as the tension and she didn't like it, "or i could watch my hybrids tear you limb from limb" outside Klaus's hybrids formed a shield around Mikael.
"They can't kill me" Klaus nodded his head "true but it'll make a hell of a party game" Mikael watched Klaus unamused. "All i have to do is run these to fingers together" Klaus went on, Lori shifted uncomfortably as she wasn't used to wearing heels and they were starting to dig into her feet. "The big bad wolf, you haven't changed still hiding behind your playthings like a coward" by the look on Klaus face Lori could tell he had hit a soft spot.
"You only forget, they may be sired by you but there still part vampire and they can be compelled by me" Mikael said which made Klaus confused. The hybrid from before walked up next to Mikael, on instinct Lori walked forward standing next to Klaus. The hybrid pulled Elena next to Mikael, only it wasn't Elena. Katherine was really stupid is she thought she could fool Lori, after all they spent weeks locked in an apartment together.
Lori brought her hand up to Klaus's arm squeezing it, "come out and face me Niklaus, or she dies" Mikael demanded. "Katherine" rang in his head which made him furrow his eyebrows before meeting "Elena's" eyes. He turned to his Father "go ahead kill her" he said unbothered.
"No Klaus, he'll do it" Elena said her voice shaking, "if she dies, this lot will be the last of your abominations" Mikael spat with disgust. "I don't need them, i just need to get rid of you" Klaus responded stubbornly. "To what end Niklaus? So you can live forever with no one at your side" Mikael fired back.
Lori scoffed turning her head to the side, "nobody cares about you anymore boy" Mikael didn't stop. "Who do you have? Other than you lap dog, and those whose loyalty you've forced? No one, no one" Lori could feel Klaus's sadness wash over her as if it were her own. "Focus" another word rang through his head, "i'm calling your bluff Father" Klaus spat anger rising.
"Kill her" Klaus said "come outside and face me you little coward, and i won't have to" Mikael said calmly. "My whole life you've underestimated me, if you kill her you lose your leverage" Klaus responded. "So go ahead, go on kill her" Klaus urged, "come on old man kill her" Mikael stared back at Klaus. "Kill her!" Klaus shouted, Mikael paused for a second before he chuckled. "Your impulse Niklaus it has and will forever be the one thing that truly keeps you from truly being great" Mikael responded keeping his calm demeanor.
By now a tear had fallen from Klaus's eye as he observed Mikael, Mikael quickly stabbed Elena in the back as she bent back gasping for air. Mikael ripped out the blade letting Elena fall to the ground, Damon sped from behind Klaus grabbing him causing Lori to fall back. "No!" she yelled quickly getting up, the hybrid vampire sped and grabbed Lori from behind making her un able to move.
Katherine got up from the floor pulling out wolfsbane and vervain grenades throwing them at Klaus's hybrids. Lori quickly grabbed the hybrids wrist syphoning magic causing the hybrid to groan in pain and stagger back. Lori whipped around quickly lifting her hand "motus" the hybrid when flying back hitting her head on the wall causing her to get knocked out.
Lori turned catching sight of Stefan tackling Damon off of Klaus, Lori brought her hand up "Klaus!" she called. Klaus turned to look at her and Lori signaled to the wooden stake, "ventus" Lori threw the stake to Klaus and he caught it vampire speeding to Mikael and stabbing it into his chest.
Mikael landed outside on the ground as he yelled in pain, soon his body caught on fire and all you could smell was burning flesh. Klaus walked back in standing behind Stefan and next to Lori, "he earned his freedom" Klaus said staring at Stefan. Stefan got up walking in front of Klaus, "thank you my friend" Klaus said fondly. "You no longer have to do what i say, you're free" Klaus compelled.
