After the visit to Akashi's mansion, the trio went back and Murasakibara and Himuro went to the hotel to join the rest of their team. Yui went to bed with a pale face as she recalled the bet she had stupidly proposed.

"Dammit Yui! Why is it so hard to keep quiet?!"

She groaned and fell forwards on her bed. After a minute of contemplation, she sighed. "I don't think anything will happen because of Akashi's pride and arrogance but I still shouldn't have been so reckless. Maybe I should glue my lips together or something."

Yui snorted at the thought and closed her eyes, slowly drifting off to sleep.

[A few days later]

It was a regular day when Yui received a surprising call from Rio. He told her that the police department wanted to award them for the body discovery and said it was a cash reward. Obviously Yui accepted and made a call to Kagami to tell of the big news. The six friends went to the police department to receive their reward and had their pictures taken but requested for their faces to be blurred out.

Yui had not told her parents or siblings of what transpired that day in fear of angering them. They didn't seem to suspect her of anything so she didn't have to worry about any questioning.

Aside from the haunted building incident, and the bet with Akashi,  there was something else on Yui's mind. Something that made her blush whenever she thought of it. No matter how hard she tried not to, Yui seemed to constantly recall her and Kagami's joined hands. Her face would automatically turn crimson and she would start writing to distract herself.

Yui had fully admitted her feelings for the red-head but still refused to confess to him. So far, only Niko knew she liked someone and she was planning on keeping it that way. Her desire to sta--see him though grew as the days passed.

Today was the day of the street ball competition where Kagami and Himuro are reunited. Yui was blending in with the crowd in her usual 'disguise' as she took photos of them.

The brothers had just met and were talking in english. Kuroko and the Seirin first-years were behind Kagami with shocked faces upon learning of his 'brother'. Himuro basically destroyed the Seiho team which led them to believe he was incredibly strong.

................

[Yui's POV]

I watched the interaction of the two 'brothers' on the court. Kuroko and the Seirin team seemed shock at how Himuro basically destroyed Seiho--a team they struggled dearly with.

Atsushi and Himuro were staying in the hotel with the rest of their team so they could train so this was the second time I'd seen pretty boy up in person. Atsushi didn't want to stay at the hotel but was forced to by his coach. He sounded annoyed when he told me over the phone and I couldn't help but picture the intimidating girl hitting him with her signature bamboo sword.

The two did come home whenever they were free though.

My thoughts were interrupted at the sound of my said brother who appeared with his bag of snacks and chewing on a maibo.

He easily retrieved the tip-off and even managed to place his maibo on top of it. Everyone on court and in the audience were stunned at the appearance of him and I couldn't help but smirk. 'Yep. Be amazed at my tall bro'

They started talking but unfortunately, my seat was too far away to hear anything so I could only guess what they were speaking about.

When I saw Atsushi grab Kuroko's head, I was tempted to chuck my shoe at him. You may be my brother but how dare you lay a hand on my idol! Kuroko was also annoyed and swatted his hand away making me grin.

The events that followed were the same as the original plot. Atsushi tells Himuro they weren't allowed to play in unofficial matches and Kagami provokes him to play.

Kagami-kun...I like you, but you really don't think things through.

The game went exactly the same and I made sure to snap a couple pics.

The sky rumbled and I looked up to see rain starting to fall. That was my cue to leave but not before getting a closer shot at Kagami. Fufu.

*Ding*

I got a notification on my email and I clicked it open to see a message from someone claiming to work for JR Publishers. JR Publishers was a well known publishing company in Japan so I was quite shocked when I read the message.

The person said that they'd seen my novels online and wanted to offer me a permanent contract.

My mouth formed an 'o' but before giving an answer, I searched up the company online and called the number to confirm this wasn't a scam email. You can't be too careful.

"....Hello? Miss Yui? This is Nakamura Daichi speaking. I was the one who sent the email to you. I've read two of novels and really loved your work so I was wondering if you'd like to contract with us."

"Ah Mr. Nakamura, I apologise for this call. I needed to make sure it wasn't a scam."

"No, it's good you called. A lot of scams like that are going around nowadays and also, it's easier if we talked on the phone rather than through email."

"Yes it is. About the contract though, you should know I already signed one with the website."

"I'm aware but websites contracts are only for a couple of years...usually four. I imagine yours should be coming to and end correct?"

"That is correct."

"In that case, if a contract with us interests you, we can meet somewhere and discuss it face-to-face."

I didn't say anything for minute before agreeing. "Very well. If you can email me your number then I can contact you when I'm ready."

"No problem. I'll send it over now. And for any questions, you are welcome to send an email."

"I will do so. Bye,"

I hung up the phone and quickly ran downstairs to tell the good news to my family.

"Eh? A contract with JR Publishers? Are you sure it wasn't a scam?" Ryu asked looking up from his laptop.

"Yep, I called the company to make sure."

"Wahhh, Yui I'm so happy for you!" Niko brought me into a hug. After that, the others congratulated me and I sent a message to Atsushi telling him the news. He responded with a simple congrats.

"Hmph, my youngest child is already making more money than my older ones." Mom sniffed.

The 'older ones' stiffened and gave her an annoyed look. Hiroshi on the side sat with an expression that said, 'do I not exist?'

I giggled at them and decided to make dinner extra delicious tonight in commemoration of my soon-to-be success.

Fufu. Who would've thought I would become a writer? In my last life, my goal was to become a regular office worker (exciting I know) but now I'm an author. Also, if the contract discussion goes well and they start publishing my novels, the book stores will sell my books.

I couldn't help but sigh happily thinking about it. I know I shouldn't celebrate too soon but I can't help myself.

And then I'll save up more money and when the time comes......

I'll have enough funds to go to America and meet Kagami there. Then we can date, get married, have kids and --KYAAA!!!

What is wrong with me? Every time I think of that oaf I turn into some middle-schooler going through puberty. (She's forgotten that she herself is technically still going through puberty.)

Well whatever. A girl can dream, right?
