Chapter 16 - Loosing it...

Harper then arrives at the hospital and she sits in the waiting room along with the rest of 51. She has stayed quiet and is only letting a few tears fall. That's until she gets to the angry stage
"Screw this!" Harper shouts as she gets up
"Woah! Clam down! Talk to me!" Casey says calmly
"What's the point on waiting! I know Kelly's not doing great! So I'm gonna go get a drink to take my mind off of this!" Harper shouts as she walks towards the door
"What about-" Casey says as Harper dramatically stops and cuts him off
"Don't you dare say that! Kelly left me to rot in my hospital room! Don't you remember? He drank his life away! He didn't loose anyone that day! I have! They are taking Cruz's body out of that building as we speak! And later tonight I'm gonna get my jacket back! The one I used to cover his lifeless body! Now will you please quit making things about Kelly!" Harper screams
"Harper" Casey says trying to grab her hand
"Let go!" Harper says as she pulls her hand away, as she pulls it away it hits the glass door and smashes it causing pieces of glass to go into her hand
Harper is in pain but try's not to show it, she just shakes her head and walks out. She drives to the exact same bar that Kelly went to
"Scotch on the rocks please" Harper says as she sits down
"Coming right up!" The barman says as he hands her the drink
"Ohh! That looks nasty!" The barman says looking at her hand
"Yeah well!" Harper says as she hides her bleeding hand
Harper is 3 drinks in when the bartender walks back over
"Your remind me of someone!" He says
"Who? And don't tell me it's Lindsay Lohan or something" Harper says as she takes another sip
"We had this guy come in a while back, he was a mess and all he did was down neat scotches. He told me that his wife was in the hospital and that he was drinking his life away! He didn't know weather his wife was going to leave him or not" The barman says as he cleans a glass
"Oh! Did you get a name?" Harper asks
"I think he said Severide?" The barman says before walking away
"Great! Now I'm turning into my husband" Harper mutters as she leaves money on the counter and walks out
Harper goes for a walk along the beach and stares into the sunset
"I never meant for this to happen! Cruz I'm so sorry! I'm just so tired! I can't come to work anymore without thinking about someone dying! And I know one day it's going to be me! And when that day comes I'll have let everyone down! They all think I'm super brave and will run into anything! But lately I've been wanting to run the other way! I'm so tired and I don't know how to make it stop! I just want to go to sleep! And never have to worry about this ever again!" Harper says as she sobs alone on the beach with not a soul in sight...
