Chapter 44 - Overdosed

It's later that night and Harper has just arrived home. She had gone house hunting with Dawson. Not for her but for Dawson. She walks in to find Kelly asleep on the couch with Devin in his arms. Harper walks over and smiles at them before taking Devin to his bed. She lays him down and kisses his forehead. She then checks on the twins and Aria and they are all sound asleep. She walks back out to discover Kelly still asleep on the couch however Harper notices that Kelly is a little pale looking
"That's funny" Harper whispers as she feels his forehead which is burning up
Harper sighs before putting a blanket over him. It's the next morning and Harper has woken up and gotten the kids ready
"Okay? Which hairstyle today princess?" Harper asks as aria sits down on the floor
"Hmmm...Pigtails!" Aria shouts enthusiastically
"Coming right up" Harper says as she smiles
Kelly then walks out of his room looking worse than the night before
"Daddy!" Aria says as Harper tightens the last pigtail in her hair
"Hey kiddo" Kelly says clearly in pain
Aria runs up and hugs him
"Ahh" Kelly says not too loud but loud enough for Harper to raise an eyebrow
"Hey princess? Why don't you go get your bag packed?" Harper suggests as aria nods and runs off
Kelly let's out a sigh and rubs his forehead
"Everything okay?" Harper asks looking at Kelly's tired body
"Uhh yeah, probably just a cold" Kelly says as he walks into the kitchen
What Kelly didn't know was that Harper knew exactly why he was feeling like this. She was a paramedic after all and could see right through him.
"Just be careful with what you take" Harper says before walking out the door with aria
Harper drops Aria off at school, Devin off at Preschool and the twins off at Daycare. She then heads to the firehouse. The morning was slow and no calls came in. Harper spent the morning in her quarters and so did Kelly.
*Kellys POV*
As I sat down on my bunk I felt like I couldn't concentrate. I could barely walk. I knew that Harper was onto me but I didn't have the guts to own up. A wave of dizziness came over me and my head fell into my hands. Sounds of a crowded room cramped in my ears and I knew something wasn't right.
*Present Day*
Kelly got up and could barely see. He managed to make his way into Harper quarters. Harper looked up and was shocked at the state of Kelly
"Kelly?" Harper asks
"I Uhh" Kelly says before collapsing into Harper's arms
"I need some help in here!" Harper yells as she holds Kelly
They all come flooding in
"What happened?" Dawson asks
"I think he's having an overdose" Harper states looking at Kelly's limp body in her arms....
