Chapter 38 - The aftermath

Harper is standing there with everyone staring at her in disbelief. She glances over at Kelly who has tears in his eyes but is showing no emotion as usual.
"I'm sorry Kelly" Harper says with tears rolling down her face
Harper feels very weak and her legs give way. She falls to the floor and goes unconscious. Casey legs it over to her
"Harper! Stay with me honey!" Casey shouts as he shoots Kelly a look
"I can't" Kelly says frozen
"What do you mean you can't? It's your wife Kelly! Your kid as well!" Casey shouts
"I don't know what to do! I can't comfort her I can't get our little girl back." Kelly says whilst sobbing
As Casey can respond the ambulance turns up and drives Harper to med. Kelly walks over and can see the puddle of blood on the floor
"That's my baby, that's my little girl" Kelly says as Casey stands next to him
"Hey come on" Casey says trying to steer him away but Kelly stays
"She should be in Harper's stomach! Not on the floor!" Kelly shouts as he punches a wall
"Let's get you to med" Casey says taking his shoulders
All of 51 drive to med and when they get there they
can see Dawson in tears waiting
"Harper...She lost the baby Casey!" Dawson says as she sobs
"We know" Casey says as he gives Gabby a hug
"You don't get to do that!" Kelly shouts
Gabby and Casey both turn around to look at Kelly
"You don't get to be sad about this! That is not your kids lying outside of a collapsed building!" Kelly shouts
Dawson puts her hands up and walks out followed by Casey. Kelly sits down and cries into his arms.
"Kelly?" Dr. Manning asks
Kelly looks up at her
"You can go see her now" She says smiling
Kelly takes a minute before getting up and walking in. Harper is sitting there in tears
"I'm sorry, it was never supposed to end up like this" Harper says with her voice breaking due to the pain
Kelly doesn't say anything and refuses to make eye contact with Harper
"I let you down... I let you down in every way possible. I'll never forgive myself for this" Harper says as a tear drops from her face and onto her pillow
"Was she too small to be? You know?"Kelly says
"She was to small to be buried. They just kind of whisked her away" Harper says as she gets another sharp feeling in her stomach
"Ahh!" Harper says as she clutches her stomach
Kelly calls for help and Dr.Manning runs in. She lifts up Harper's cover to reveal her bed filled with blood
"She's bleeding internally, we need to get her into surgery!" Dr.Manning orders as they whisk Harper away...
