Chapter 29 - I cant let her go...

Kelly comes running in
"What happened?" Kelly asks as he watches the doctors
"She coded" Harper says with no emotion
Kelly slides down next to her and Harper lays her head on his shoulder
"I told her that it's okay to go... I told my 8 year old daughter that it's okay to die! What's wrong with me?!" Harper says as the tears flood down her face
"Hey! Hey! Look at me! We can't protect them forever. Yes that's our little girl in there but what if it is her time to go? We don't want her in pain do we?" Kelly says as Harper looks in arias room
"Mrs and Mr Severide?" Dr.Marcel says
"Yeah that's us!" Kelly says as they both get up
"We've had to put her into a medically induced coma, so she has a better survival rate" He says
They both don't quite know how to respond
"I found this next to her? It says mum on it?" Dr.Marcel says as he hands a piece of paper to Harper
Harper opens it as Dr.Marcel walks away. Inside it's a picture of Aria,Cruz and Otis in heaven with Harper and Kelly looking up to them and talking. Arias speech bubble says "Look mummy! I'm with uncle Cruz and Otis! They miss you very much and so do I! Don't worry about me there taking great care of me!"
Harper's eyes fill up with tears until she reads her speech bubble "Whenever your ready princess, but mummy doesn't think she can cope with out you!"
Kelly looks for his speech bubble and it says "I'll take good care of mummy honey! Don't you worry about her kiddo"
"She really is one of a kind" Kelly says as he sheds a tear
"I can't let her go yet! I need her! I need to watch her walk down the aisle with you! I need to see her have my first grandchild! God! I need to see her graduate Elementary!" Harper says as try's not to cry
"Come here" Kelly says as he try's to pulls her close but Harper pulls away
"I don't want you to hold me close because if you do then I'll start crying! And if I start crying then I don't think I'll be able to stop!" Harper says as Kelly's heart breaks
"Okay" Kelly says softly
"Okay" Harper says after taking a deep breath
Kelly the smiles at her but knows it best to leave her so he walks out in a rush and Casey spots him
"I've let her down!" Kelly says as he starts to cry
"What do you mean?" Casey asks standing next to him
"I was the one responsible for Aria today! What if" Kelly says as he stops himself
"What if?" Casey asks
"I did that to her! I-I wasn't watching her closely!" Kelly says in a panic
Casey doesn't quite know how to respond so he places a reassuring hand on his shoulder
Harper is sitting at Arias bedside
"Can you wake up for me? Please honey! I need to tell you that I love you before you go" Harper says as she holds arias hand tightly
But aria lays there, on a machine that is breathing for her
"Mummy loves you so much okay? I'll always be with you! Even if your not here" Harper says as a tear rolls down her face...
