The cold wind gently caressed my cheek as I walked side by side with Technoblade. It was one of those rare occasions, where I would ask him to join me. Recently we had been spending more time together and it was relaxing, to say the least. Today, he wore his usual kingly attire but without the mask, it was my sole request that we could spend time together as long as I saw his face.
I felt some weight on my shoulders before I noticed the King's cloak keeping me warm. "Techno, I'm fine... You're gonna catch a cold.", I scolded. The Blood God only chuckled before he ruffled my hair. "I've never gotten sick after becoming a god.", He smirked. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him, he could be such an annoying guy sometimes. He didn't show this side to anyone, in the few meetings that I was able to join him in, he was always serious with everyone. George even teased me about being a beast tamer since he noticed Techno's attitude change when it came to me.
My fingers gently rubbed my temples as the voices spoke in the back of my mind. "Settle down, please...", I sighed. The noise reduced as warm hands cupped my face, my eyes met with the King's eyes, I couldn't help but admit that I had come to adore his eyes a lot. "They can be a handful, huh?", He whispered. I gave him a small nod before I relaxed into his touch. It was comforting and gave me a great sense of security, enough to make me close my eyes and enjoy. "You're going to fall asleep.", Chuckled Techno. I opened my eyes to see he was too close.
The sudden pleads and various comments made me blush deeply and feel conflicted about my growing feelings. The voices vanished as Techno closed the space between us, before I knew it, he had placed a kiss on my forehead. "Let's go. We're almost at the temple.", He smiled. His fingers intertwined with mine as we approached the growing project we had started a month ago. We looked down from the cliff to see the glass dome that protected the now empty ocean monument, it had been difficult to beat the guardians that were residing inside but looking at the almost finished project made my chest swell with pride. "Are you finally going to tell me why you decided to conquer this place?", Hummed Techno, giving my hand a squeeze. A soft giggle escaped me as we both sat on the edge of the cliff.
"A few weeks ago, I was in the library and found some plans that belong to the Ice Queen of Veri.", I hummed. Techno's body tensed up next to mine, he kept his eyes on the ocean below. "She was planning on taking over this place after all...", he mumbled. My head leaned onto his shoulder before I explained the reason why. Apparently, the Queen was well educated in military tactics and had planned a tunnel from the kingdom of Veri towards the ocean monument to have a shelter for her people. "She didn't get to finish it but it's good enough for us to finish it and have a safe house if a disaster were to hit the kingdom.", I smiled. Techno nodded and promised to get people on it from Valtamari, I thanked him before focusing on the sunset. "You're staring again.", I smirked. The King coughed a few times before looking away, he always did little things that confused me.
"You know... I wanted to strangle you a few weeks ago.", I confessed. Techno focused on me and hummed before I continued. "You took my child away from me... It was painful because I never understood why or what I could have done wrong for you to do that.", I frowned. The Blood God's hand unconsciously gave mine a squeeze as I finished that sentence. "You didn't do anything wrong... You're the best thing that has happened to that child... You're the best thing that has happened to me.", he whispered. My eyes widened at his sudden confession, a numb feeling spread on my tongue as the tears gathered in my eyes. My head lifted so my eyes could meet his, they were unwavering and full of truth. "Why did you do that then? If you claim what you said just now, tell me why did you take Ranboo from me, Technoblade...", I frowned. The Blood God frowned as he noticed the tears in my eyes, his hand let go of mine before he looked at his hands that now rested on his lap.
"There was a nightmare, more vivid than the ones before... You and that boy are going to die and all I will be able to do is hug your corpses. There will be so much bloodshed and screaming as this happens on a burning battlefield, your family dying at the hands of something we can't beat.", he whispered, his hands were shaking ever so slightly. The confession must have been a load of bricks off the man's shoulders, he had dreams of fates he didn't want to see and couldn't help it. My hands gently were placed over his, getting his attention. "Techno, you idiot... I know we won't let that happen. Don't pay attention to those stupid nightmares... We have each other's back, remember?", I smiled, the warm tears rolling down my cheeks. Relief washed over the man's face before he smiled, he began to apologize for everything but I was done letting him talk. My hands cupped his face and brought it closer to me, his lips were a bit chapped from the cold but it was still pleasant to feel them on mine.
"Shut up and prove that you're sorry with your actions... Words are only temporary and will be forgotten after a while.", I whispered after parting from him. Technoblade looked at me with a blush spreading on his face before he smiled, he quickly brought me back to him to return the kiss that I had given him. "Guess this confirms something, right?", he chuckled as we got up. A smirk spread across my face as I grabbed his cloak and threw it at him. "Yeah, this confirms that next time you do something stupid, I'll kick your ass!", I laughed as I began to run back to the castle. The King laughed before raising an eyebrow in my direction and chasing after me, my screams echoed in the forest as he picked me up. "Put me down!", I laughed. His laugh resonated with mine before he placed me down, his arms securely holding me close to him. "Anything else I can do for you?", he whispered. My mind didn't think much before I requested what I truly wanted. "I just want you to keep my child safe, Techno.", I mumbled. The Blood God chuckled before he kissed my temple.
"You know if we analyze our relationship currently, he's actually our child now..."
