A lot of people who grew up in the early 2000's at least watched the hit Japanese anime called "Detective Conan."
The premise of the show starts off with seventeen-year-old Shinichi Kudo, the youngest detective alive who was knocked out unconscious and given a strange pill by two suspicious men that turned him into a little kid. Now, he goes by the name "Conan Edogawa" and seeks to solve mysteries leading to these guys.
It's thrilling to sew little Conan hide behind a couch, use his little voice changer and mimic one of the grownups' voice as he talks about his findings. As you continue watching it as an adult, you're somehow reminded of this thing called "ageism."
A lot of adults tend to think that kids are all misguided sheep and like to make things up. They may argue that older people are much wiser, but it's not always the case.
Conan wouldn't be taken seriously because, well, he is only seven! The one who is supposed to be the greatest detective, Kogoro Mouri, is so bad at his job but everyone still trusts him.

Oh, you're too young.

Oh, you're too old for this.

You're just a kid!

I know better than you so shut up!

Your age does not measure how smart and capable you actually are.
It depends on how well you improve yourself and learn to be a better person. Trying to use it to back up an argument won't convince anyone to respect you.
