Chapter 14

Third person's POV

Moments later, they stop at a farm house on a big block of land with timber fences surrounding. Chaeyoung walks in through the opened gate, Mina follows closely behind. They are walking on a long pathway that leads to the house, on both sides of the pathway, there are about ten rows of some sorts of plantations. Mina caught glimpses of some red looking fruits,

'Are those strawberries?' Mina asks with excitement in her voice,

Chaeyoung nods her head with the same excitement on her face,

'Can I?' Mina asks gesturing if she can come closer to those rows of strawberries,

Chaeyoung nods her head 'Of course!'

Mina runs like a little kid, Chaeyoung smiles and follows right behind her. Mina picks a few red ripen strawberries, admiring them, touching the plants with amazement 'Wow...this is so cool! You know this is my first time ever to see a strawberry plant?'

'Oh really? You haven't been to a strawberry farm since you were little?' Chaeyoung asks in mild surprise,

'No, never, my parents have always been busy with their business, so they don't really have time to take me to places like this' Mina answers,

'Go ahead, try some, they are pesticides free, so they are clean. Strawberries taste best when they freshly picked.' Chaeyoung says, cheering the girl up,

Mina takes a bite, her face lits up 'Wow...you are right. This tastes amazing!'. She smiles at Chaeyoung with her genuine gummy smile,

Seeing that makes Chaeyoung's heart skips a beat. This is the first time, she sees Mina's smile, especially smiling at her, a type of smile that makes Chaeyoung's world turned so bright and sunny.

'Just when I thought this girl could not be any cuter, here she is, knocks me off my feet with her adorable gummy smile. Oh Mina, what are you doing to me?' Chaeyoung is deeply in a daze,

'Chaeyoung?'
'Chaeyoung!' Mina has been calling her a few times,

'Is this your farm house?' Mina asks,

Chaeyoung snaps out of her daze, she answers 'No, it's my grandparents's house. They planted these because they know I love strawberries.'

'Oh, they must love you a lot!' Mina says while eating her 8th or 9th strawberry.

'Is that you, Chaeyoung?'

Chaeyoung and Mina both turn to where the voice came from to see an older couple standing on the pathway, looking at them. Chaeyoung quickly runs to them and hugs them both tightly 'Grandma, Grandpa, I miss you both so much!'

'Aigoo, my baby, what took you so long to come visit us?' Grandma asks while cupping Chaeyoung's cheeks with both of her hands,

'I have been so busy with school, Grandma.' Chaeyoung answers,

They both nod and smile warmly at Chaeyoung, then Grandma notices Mina's presence 'And who is this beautiful young lady?'

Mina steps up and does a deep bow 'Annyonghaseyo, I'm Myoui Mina, Chaeyoung's...friend.'

'Aigoo! What a pretty and nice manner young girl' Grandma gives Mina a tight hug, Grandpa nods his head at her. They are very pleased to meet her.

'You two stay for lunch. I will cook something delicious.' Grandma offers,

'No, it's ok Grandma, we just stop by to...' Chaeyoung tries to refuse but got cut off,
