Chapter 16

Third person's POV

Ring...ring...ring...

Mina's phone rings, interupting their trend of thoughts. She takes a few seconds to compose herself, checks the caller ID before answering,
'Hello, Mommy?'

'My God, Mina, I almost got a heart attack not seeing you in your room. Where are you?' Mrs Myoui worrily asks,

'Sorry, Mommy! I'm just out to buy something. I will be back soon.' Mina answers her mom,

'Come home quickly, darling! Your dad won't be happy if he knows you are out this late.' Mrs Myoui urges Mina,

'Yes Mommy, I'm coming home now.' Mina replies, then ends the call.

'You better get going now, Mina. Your parents must be really worried.' Chaeyoung tells her,

Mina nods her head 'Take this ointment and don't forget to apply to the wounds twice a day...and...uhm...thank you for protecting me, Chaeyoung ah!'

Chaeyoung smiles and gently ruffling Mina's hair 'Drive home safely...Minari!'

'Minari?' Mina asks, a little surprise with the sudden petname,

'Uhm...Minari...cause you called me Chaeyoungie earlier' Chaeyoung smiles warmly at Mina,

Mina smiles shyly, loving the petname Chaeyoung just gave her, 'See you at school tomorrow then... Chaeyoungie!'

Mina couldn't stop smiling during the drive home, happy with the petnames they have for each other. But what makes her smiles reach her ears is the fact that she just discovered another side of Chaeyoung, a protective side.

Next day, at school, Mina and her friends are walking to their lockers. Mina notices a small gift bag hanging by her locker's door, she opens it to see the Heinz ketchup bottle and a sticky note that reads 'Dear Princess Minari of Ketchup kingdom, this ketchup bottle has travelled far and beyond to look for its rightful owner...turns out it didn't have to, its owner is always right there from the beginning, it's you, Princess Minari.'

And a group of butterflies are freely flying everywhere in Mina's stomach after reading the note. She smiles widely, loving Chaeyoung's playful but sweet gesture.

'Gosh, that's so sweet!' Nayeon, Sana and Momo says at the same time. They've been peeking over Mina's shoulders this whole time.

Mina startles, didn't expect her friends to be right behind her 'Ah, you guys scared me!'

They laugh, Sana teases 'Ouch...my teeth actually hurt from reading the note'

Mina rolls her eyes, quickly walks away, but her friends follow her closely,

'Sugar! Yes please!' Momo sings,

'Won't you come and put it down on me?' Nayeon continues singing the line.

The three laugh, Mina covers her ears with her hands, walking as fast as she could, hoping to avoid all their teasing.

At lunch time in the cafeteria, Chaeyoung and her friends are eating together. Mina who saw them, decides to walk over,

'Thank you for the ketchup, Chaeyoungie!' She says with her soft and gentle voice,

Chaeyoung smiles lovingly 'Anything for you, Minari.'

Mina's cheeks turn pink, she smiles and runs back to her table.

'Ooohhhh...so you have petnames for each other now?! What have we missed?' Dahyun teases Chaeyoung,
