Chapter 37

Third person's POV

Mr Myoui and Chaeyoung are now sitting on a bench in the hospital's garden,

'Chaeyoung, Dad wants to talk to you about Somi, but I don't want Mina to hear that name ever again, that's why I wanted you to come out here with me.' Mr Myoui tells Chaeyoung,

'I understand, Dad.' Chaeyoung says,

'Chaeyoung, so this Somi is your close friend?' Mr Myoui asks,

'Yes, Dad, she was my closest friend for the 5 years that I studied in Australia.' Chaeyoung answers honestly,

'And she has special feelings for you, is that right?' Mr Myoui continues to ask,

Chaeyoung looks at him, she nervously gulps, 'Dad, I might be a close friend to her, but I have never had romantic feelings towards her. I love Mina, and it always will be Mina only. Please don't doubt my love for Mina!' She pleads,

Mr Myoui nods his head, 'Don't worry, Chaeyoung. Dad has never doubted your love for Mina. And the fact that you took the knife, risking your life for Mina, I know that Mina is in safe hands.' He pats Chaeyoung's shoulder to reassure her,

He continues, 'What I want to talk to you about is that, because of what Somi did to my precious daughter, I will do everything in my power to make sure she gets the maximum punishment for her crime. So I'm telling you beforehand, eventhough she is your close friend, I won't ever forgive her. Even if you try to interfere, or beg me to help reducing the sentence, I'm telling you in advance, my answer is no.'

'I totally understand how you feel, Dad. Your heart must have hurt badly seeing what Mina had gone through. I can tell you honestly that I, too, won't ever forgive Somi for what she did to Mina. Dad, I promise you that I won't ever interfere with how you deal with Somi in court.' Chaeyoung says, staying firm with her thought,

Mr Myoui smiles warmly at Chaeyoung, very pleased with her answer. To him, Chaeyoung has become a very important family member, that's why he thought it's necessary to clear this Somi matter with Chaeyoung first, so there will be no hard feelings or misunderstandings between Chaeyoung and his family.

Mr and Mrs Myoui stayed until after Mina and Chaeyoung had their dinner. They then went home, leaving Mina and Chaeyoung in their shared hospital room. They each has their own bed, but Chaeyoung mostly spends her time sitting right next to Mina or cuddling with Mina on her bed.

A while later, a nurse comes into the room with some medicines and some treatment cream for Mina,

'Miss Myoui, these are some paracetamol to help with the pain on your back.' The nurse says and hands Mina a small tray with two tablets on it,

'Thank you.' Mina politely says and takes the tablets with some water.

'And this is a treatment cream for your wounds, I will have to apply it on for you twice a day, starting from tonight. Please could you undo the back of your gown, so I can put it on?' The nurse continues,

Mina is hesitating, 'Does...does it hurt?' She nervously asks,

'It will be a bit sting but won't be too bad.' The nurse answers,

Mina is still unsure, she is quite scared of any kind of pain at the moment,

Chaeyoung caresses Mina's hair to soothe her, 'It will be ok, Baby. I'm right next to you, I will hold your hand.' Chaeyoung gently says,
