Chapter 18

Third person's POV

It's one of those afternoons when Mina and Chaeyoung are having coffee in the usual Cafe right next to their university. While they are happily chitchating, Jackson who happened to come into the Cafe as well, approaches them,

'Oh, hi, Mina-ssi, didn't expect to see you here.' Jackson puts on a surprised face but in fact he knows Mina comes here frequently,

'Oh Jackson-ssi, it's good to see you.' Mina gives him a friendly smile,

'What a nice coincidence! Can I sit here with you two, Mina-ssi?' Jackson asks,

'Yes, sure, and you can drop the formality. We are friends now, aren't we?' Mina again being very friendly,

'Of course we are. Thank you, Mina!' Jackson says and sits down opposite side to the both of them.

Chaeyoung gives Mina a disapproval look for being too friendly with some stranger. Mina who saw it, starts to introduce them to each other,

'Chaeyoung, this is Jackson.'

'Jackson, this is Chaeyoung.'

Jackson puts out his hand for a handshake, Chaeyoung takes it for like a nanosecond, then quickly withdraws. There is something about this guy that she doesn't like, not even one bit.

The atmosphere turns awkward quickly, there is nothing but silence at this table,

'Uh...uhm...I'm gonna go to the restroom for a bit.' Mina tries to run from this awkwardness,

Once Mina is out of sight, Jackson speaks up, 'So, is Mina your thing?'

Chaeyoung glares at him, her intuition about this guy was right 'Mina is not a thing.' She says,

'So she is not your thing. Good, because I'm gonna make her my thing.' He smirks cockily,

Chaeyoung clenches her fists, 'Watch your mouth or you are gonna regret it. I repeat, Mina is not a thing, she is a person, my person!'

'We will see about that.' Jackson stares at Chaeyoung in a challenging manner,

Chaeyoung stares right back at him, not backing down.

Mina steps out of the restroom to see the two of them staring at each other, 'What is going on?' She questions herself,

After Mina sits back down at the table, Jackson turns all friendly again 'Mina, sorry but I better get going now, I still have something to do in my class.'

Mina nods her head. Jackson turns to Chaeyoung and puts out his hand again for another handshake, 'It was nice meeting you, Chaeyoung-ssi!'

Chaeyoung scoffs, 'Keep your hand to yourself, Jackson-ssi!' She refuses to shake his hand, and at the same time, warns him to stay away from Mina.

'I guess I will see you around then Mina!' He waves goodbye at Mina, then walks out.

Chaeyoung has been quiet for a while now, Mina could sense that there is something wrong, but she's scared to ask, so she keeps glancing at Chaeyoung.

'How do you know him?' Chaeyoung asks, her voice is not as sweet as it usually is,

'Uh...uhm...I met him at one of my dad's work parties...and...uhm...today is the second time I met him' Mina feels nervous all of a sudden,
