"You and Mom really did love each other," Eleana whispered graciously grinning at Bose.
"We did," He sighed. Eleana started getting under her covers and fluffing her pillow. She rested her head on her pillow looking up at Bose.
He saw her smile disappear and a sad one appeared.
"I miss her," She expressed fluttering her eye's shut. Bose took her small hand and gave it a small kiss, "Me too". More than she'll ever know.
Eleana started drifting to sleep and Bose felt contentful seeing the brightest star in his universe, safely with him. Everyone always said she took after him but whenever Bose looked at her all he saw was Mika. She wasn't really gone, her spirit lived within Eleana, it was like she was always with him.
He let go of her hand and sighed, hearing complete silence with the exception of Eleana's gently breathing. Bose closed the book and placed it on her nightstand.
He saw the picture of Mika that was always kept there and reached out to hold it. Bose could never remember her without feeling the grief but it was also the only time besides his daughter when he felt a great passion of love
Mika Macklin did say she'd love him til her last dying breath, as well as their dear Eleana.
