Chapter 5 - Baek Ho

I'm supposed to keep my identity a secret but here I am, walking in the halls of Baek-Ho's estate. I wanted to meet them somewhere else but they insisted that it's only right to greet them in their territory. What a pain. I went through all those pesky menu reviews for nothing.

"The new heir will be announced soon. He'll be in charge of our district and four others."

"Did he meet with the other groups already?" Hmm, they're already starting without me? Ain't that unfair?

"I don't think so. Lee Sol Gyoung wants to see our shocked faces again. Remember when his eldest son first made it to the spotlight a few years back?"

"That guy was a soft fellow. How could he manage five groups?"

"Right. Should this one be any better, I doubt it."

Should you be in the wake of the real Lee Shin-Ah, she would've dismissed this group already. But since it's me, you'll just have to be the reformists following my lead.

They wouldn't stop talking. Until the servants opened the door to the drawing room. Huh, why did you all shut your mouth as soon as you saw me? Did you expect to see a man?

"Good evening." I greeted first. The groups were created to protect the areas where the board of directors are residing. They we're unaffiliated at first but the groups needed funding and companies to back them up. These gangs and companies needed each other to survive. Getting information and building power over the weak became easier this way.

Hm. But wasn't my grand entrance cool though? Just when they were discussing how weak of a man I'm going to be, a woman takes them by surprise...

"I thought we agreed that we'll be seeing the heir, not the representative."

Wait, what?

"Right! We gathered here to talk to the newest heir. How can we trust him if he can't even fulfill his promise."

"Calm down everyone. You'll frighten our guest." What is this? Baek Yoon Ho is speaking. He looks so wise, it's almost funny. "Is the president late?"

"Actually..." I glanced at my wrist watch. "I'm five minutes early."

Gasps and murmurs were heard all over the room. I told them I was coming to see them personally. Why would they think that a representative will be coming here instead? I looked at them sternly as I took a seat on the floor along with the other members. There's a lot of them.

"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Lee Shin-Ah and I will be the new Chairman of the LSY Group of companies. I'll be in your care from now on." I took a bow to show respect. I'll have to please them until the end of this meeting.

Yoon-Ho's gigantic laughter followed.

"You took us by surprise, child. How will you be able to manage groups that are larger than your influence. Do you think we trust Lee Sol Gyoung? We've made up our minds. This group will be working on its own."

Just above the ceiling is a huge rug with the symbol of the white tiger. This group had been operating long before my grandfather and his friends started Aeon tech. Even with today's feud, they we're the first to trust my father. I guess Yoon-Ho is just a good man, he can't endure being used to spreading fear across his district and doing the dirty stuff.

"Furthermore, LSY is abandoning this faction since they are having tough competition in this part of Seoul. I see no point in this meeting with the future chairman."

"We are now in the process of paying for all the funds we received through the years. We're cutting ties. Is the current chairman looking for a way to eradicate all of us?"
