Some days were exhausting. Some days were rewarding. And some days are just...
My head was slightly cocked to the side, and my arms were crossed. You don't get to choose the type of day that will unfold right in front of your eyes.
"Who are you again?" I tried to smile at it but I can't hide my annoyance towards this little girl who had her palms opened in front of me since she appeared in front of my door.
"I told you, my name's Seoyeon. I'm the daughter of the owner of the tteokboki stand where you ate at. The last time you went there, you forgot to pay for your food."
And an eight year old is collecting my payment? She matched my gaze and crossed her arms. I think I remember her mother being kind and gentle when she took my order. Is she really her kid?
"How did you find me then?" She raised her hand and there it was. In the middle of her tiny fingers was the business card that must've slipped outside my wallet.
"Unnie, stealing is a crime." I scoffed. She's not an eight-year-old. She's practically a granny. "We called you several times until my mother gave up. I didn't. I took the bus and got here all by myself. You look like you're earning a lot of money..."
She stood up and roamed around my office. I really don't know how she convinced the people outside to let her come into my office but however she did it, it's kinda amazing.
"Yah, kid." I signaled to her to come closer to me, which she did. "I'll pay for my debt, okay? Along with the interest. How about that?"
"Really, unnie?" I nodded. I'm really fond of people who know how to find their way towards me, the walking money bag. Bonus points to this kid who's at least cute and pleasant to look at. "Well, you still have to come with me back to my mom and apologize."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." I looked at her from head to toe. I think people owning stalls like those earn a fair amount of money. "In one condition."
"Eh? But you owe us the money. Why would you ask for a condition?" My tongue clacked.
"It's not going to be that hard. You'll see, you'll even enjoy doing it. I'll give you extra money if you do it." I saw her knotting her forehead as if thinking about it so hard.
"What is it?" I smiled sheepishly.
I left the office early along with the child holding my right hand. I'm taking her to one of the famous boutiques somewhere near the LSY building.
Ughh. I miss styling clothes for my younger cousins. This is going to be fun.
"Welcome." Three of the attendants spread one of their arms to the interior of the store when they greeted us at the entrance. As if telling us that we can choose to our heart's content and everyone else is insignificant.
"Woah!" The child was astonished to see so many clothes and sparkling accessories. Hm! Later, you won't just be looking at them. We're not here to window shop, Seoyeon.
I let go of her hand and she looked up to me confused. I signaled the attendant and with just that, all of them scrambled to gather as many clothes and accessories as they could. I plan to buy her everything from this store but I'm worried they won't have enough space in their closet. Haist. Should I buy them a brand new apartment then?
"Unnie." I was sitting on a couch just outside the dressing room waiting for Seoyeon. I lowered my glasses that still has a dangling tag on the temple.
She came out wearing a black A-line dress with a pearl necklace and a black clutch bag on her small right arm. She lowered her glasses to see me clearly as well.
