NP: Saturn - Sleeping at last.

A/N: This song reminds me of my comfort character. This might be TMI but I've had this comfort character before whom I've made countless stories about in my head. Not gonna lie, it's because of them that I developed maladaptive daydreaming. I would get excited to go to bed just so I can continue season 9 episode 4 of our love story.😂. But then this character, for some reason, had to die. Idk if I was just being dramatic but I cried that day. It wasn't even planned. Like all I could think of that day was this person saying goodbye to me. As if the world I created for both of us, for a very long time, was meant to end. And it was so painful even for 14 year old me who had relied on that character to cope from my reality.

Anyways, there's a lot of 'saying goodbye to your comfort character' playlists on Youtube so now I know I'm not the only one who went through that phase in life.😂😂😂

"Shin-Ah!" I just arrived home and was taking my shoes off when suddenly, the kids came running towards me with their hands behind their backs. Jeuda, Seoyeon, Seojin, and in the far back was Jin-Woo. The adults came following down to the receiving area. Eunsoo and Roselia were holding on to a cart with a white cloth covered on top of it. To my surprise, Jin-Woo's mom was also there with them. Gunhee just mouthed the words: 'Welcome Home.'

"What's going on?"

"Happy birthday, M'lady." From behind, Fabian presented me with a box only the size of my hand.

"Birthday..."

"Happy Birthday, Unnie!"

"Happy Birthday, Noona!"

"Happy Birthday, M'lady!"

The Seo siblings and Jeuda all revealed what they were hiding behind their backs. They too had presents wrapped in different bright and fun colors. Eunsoo and Roselia simultaneously unveiled the two-layered strawberry cake with pink and white frosting. I gaped from the sight of my favorite cake coming closer to me.

"I hope it's to your liking, M'lady." Roselia proudly places her hand over her chest and bows.

"Let's go eat some cake!" Seoyeon pulled my hand and guided me towards the cart. She grabbed a plate for me and asked Eunsoo to slice the cake already. She looks so cute with her loud and demanding personality. "Faster! I want to eat some cake now!"

"Noona, look here." Seojin pulled out a camera and took a picture of her with the cake. "Aish. Take two. You look so ugly on this one."

"Why you little--" I was caught off guard by the sudden flash again. "Oof!"

The dumbass just laughed and kept taking pictures.

"Happy birthday."

"Ah. Jiji." My grandfather placed his arm over my shoulder and posed to the camera with a huge smile on his face after rubbing a finger of frosting on my face. Mind you, he's got a huge hand, so the frosting smudged almost 20% of my face. "Jiji!"

He quickly got away before I could even the score. He's just smirking his merry way. I panned my gaze to Kyung Hye. She just nodded at me and left. Jin-Woo also just followed her through his gaze. He's still not going back to his original form so he still can't go home.

When his mom was finally out the door, Jin-Woo's eyes and mine met. I flinched a bit, but I chose to stand there still looking at him. He gradually smiled at me. And for a moment there, I thought I saw him in his normal form smiling back at me. Then he mouthed the words: 'Happy birthday.'
