Your new boss, Max, is a vampire. He thinks that you don't know. You can't wait to tell him that you already know.

Some minor swearing and innuendo.

.......

You have to admit it: Your new boss is hot. And smooth. And funny. He sure has wicked sense of humor and you admire that in a man.

Or maybe you should say...vampire. That's right. Your new boss is a vampire.

He thinks you don't know. But you've known from the second you met him. You're not sure how you know you know. You just do.

Max radiates confidence. Maybe that's what tipped you off. Or maybe it was the fangs that you spotted when he was grinning devilishly at...you.

At least, you were pretty sure they were fangs. It's not as if you're a vampire expert or anything.

However, you've been obsessed with vampires for years. You've read several books and seen almost every vampire movie that was ever made.

You grin. This is going to be fun.

.......

"Hey, Mr. Phillips." Max turns, amusement flickering across his face. You smile, putting your hand on Max's arm.

"Call me Max. You make me feel really old calling me Mr. Phillips." You chuckle.

"Okay, Max." You bat your eyelashes at him and you see his grin widen. Ooh, yes. You like this little game.

"And can I call you Y/N?" Max asks, leaning in closer, his mouth a mere inches from your...neck.

You feel a thrill, wondering if he'd...turn you if you asked.

"Most definitely." Max trails his fingers down your arm and you shiver. Not from fear. But excitement.

"Am I scaring you?"

"No." Max's intense gaze is boring into you. It's almost as though he's...hypothesizing you.

"Are you sure?"

"Oh, yes. Say, would it be out of line to ask you out for drinks?" Max grins again.

"Not at all. I'll come to collect you after work." You grin.

"Sounds fantastic. I can't wait."

.......

Max is so funny. And interesting. And smoking hot. He asks you all sorts of questions about yourself.

You tell him anything he wants to know. Then you turn the tables and start asking questions about him.

You have to give it to Max, he's a closed book. Until you drop what you know about him.

"So, Max, you graduated from a school abroad, isn't that right?"

Max actually drops the facade long enough that you know your suspections about him are correct.

"Does that matter?" Max asks. You watch him fidget with his glass for a few minutes.

"Nope. Besides, it must be absolutely fascinating to be a...vampire."

Max nearly drops his glass as you smile at him, sipping your own drink.

"How'd you know?"

"Lucky guess." Max looks pissed. Uh oh. Maybe you shouldn't have said anything. Is Max going to drag you out into the dark night and drain you dry?

"Am I in trouble?" You ask softly. Max sighs.

"You do realize that I'll have to kill you niw, right?"

"Okay." Max blinks, frowning.

"Are you mocking me?"

"Not at all." Max studies you.

"I won't kill you."

"What a shame. Are you going to at least turn me?" Max laughs. You're not sure what that means exactly.

"Would you want that?"

You shrug. It'd be cool, you think. Especially if you get to be with Max.

"Would I get to stick around with you?" Max nods.

"Yes, Y/N. You would." His voice is softer now. More gentle and caring.

"Then do it, Max." He smiles, taking your hand in his. He seems...different all of a sudden. More...unsure of himself.

"I'd like that. I get so..lonely sometimes. It'd be nice to have a companion that I could count on."

Max presses his lips to yours. Ahh! He's so gentle. You know, without a doubt, this us what you want.

"Let's go to my place." You leave with Max, your fingers laced through his. You smile.

You cannot wait to begin life anew with Max Phillips.
