Chapter Seventeen

The group of friends chose to take advantage of the good weather by going for a walk at the busy area filled with sorts of fun activities

The weather was all sunshine for everyone except for Ryujin and Yeji

Ryujin was walking with Minju hoping to find something fun to do

"Mhmm" Minju hummed in satisfaction at the cotton candy that was occupying her hand "This is delicious"

Ryujin simply nodded at the statement

Minju sighed after glancing at the other "What do you want to do?"

"I'm happy with anything"

"Even robbing a bank?"

Ryujin narrowed her eyes at Minju who maintained a blank expression

"Do you think i'm really capable of that?"

Ryujin placed a finger on her chin pretended to think

Minju slapped her arm in response

"My father will kill me" She told Ryujin

Ryujin chuckled at the statement even though it was true

Ryujin thanked the cashier with two the ice creams on hand and crashed into someone who was behind her

To her relief it was Yeji who she spilled the ice cream on

Not that she wanted to spill ice cream all over her but it was a relief but the situation with a stranger would have easily escalated into something not so pleasing

She still regretted messing on Yeji's shirt

"I'm so sorry"

"It's okay" Yeji tried to wipe the cream off her shirt

"No it's not"

They stood aside excusing themselves for other customers who were on their way to purchase

"At least take my jacket"

"it is barely noticeable"

Ryujin gave her a look which meant that Yeji had no option but to give in

Ryujin admired the person standing infront of her as she looked good in her jacket and the weather was starting to get chilly outside

The timing couldn't be more perfect

"You have been staring way too long"
Yeji broke her from her thoughts

Yeji then returned to the line

"Way to go Shin Ryujin the ice cream almost melted"
Minju took the ice cream that way placed on the table
"And yours ended up on Yeji and i enjoyed seeing you get flustered over her"

"We are not in good terms"

"You gave her your jacket?" Minju asked her as if she completely lost her mind

"And?"

"That's romantic"
Minju playfully slapped Ryujin's hand

"So when are two going to make it official?" She asked the girl with whiskers

Ryujin mumbled something that even a person next to her would barely hear

"I can't hear you over this ice cream!"

"I said shut up"

Minju laughed at her friend's sudden nervousness caused by Yeji

The two went to play a game of pool

With both of them tied in scores

Ryujin leaned her chin against her hands that were leaning on the cue stick 

"You guys are playing pool without us?" The rest of the gang entered the pool area with Yeji trailing behind

Ryujin noticed that Yeji hugged the jacket tighter

"Everyone knows that you suck at a game of pool" Minju told Lia

Lia was too stubborn to acknowledge any weakness of her

Ryujin broke her gaze off Yeji fearing of looking like a creep in broad daylight

"What about you Yeji?"
Everyone turned their attention to the girl who looked like she was caught completely off guard
"Huh?"

"Want to join us for game of pool?"

Her response took longer than expected, "I'll watch rather"

"Me too"

Ryujin went to join Yeji who was sitting at a chair close enough to get the view of the pool game

"How are you good at everything?" Lia dramatically yelled way too loud

"Enjoying your day?" Ryujin asked Yeji who was sitting in silence

"It's all good thanks for the concern"
Yeji responded with no hint of emotion on her voice

"You might want to take it back" Yeji spoke again

"No you can keep it"

Yeji fixed the jacket that she was taking off back in place and tracing the SRJ initials on it using her fingertips

"It looks good on you" Ryujin studied Yeji's as if checking her out

Yeji noticed the stare
"Stop looking at me like a creep"

"You're beautiful" She paused and looked away "It will be really a dumb move to let you go"

"You said i was hiding something the other day" Yeji reminded her

"I'm sorry for that"

"If you really think i will ever keep something from you then you need to think again" Yeji defended herself

"So am i forgiven?"

Yeji displayed a cocky smile, "No"

"I don't understand"

"You never try to"

It was days after that short vacation or whatever they called it

Ryujin was packing items to her small bag

"I thought you were at work already?" Yuna asked her sister who was hurrying over what she was doing

"I asked for a later shift" She answered in a monotonous tone

"Then where are you going?" Yuna raised her brow

"Somewhere" Ryujin was still focused on what she was doing

Yuna shook her head at the one who was clearly in a strange mood

She changed the subject

"Mom got a job at the supermarket and she has a shift till late"

Ryujin had not seen her mother in days due to being busy and she was kind of jealous that work was taking much of her time

She barely had any time with her father and she was now barely getting time with her mother

They may not have a perfect relationship but she was still her mother

"Good for her" The older sister maintained the monotonous tone

"At least pretend to be happy"

Ryujin shot her sister an unreadable expression looking at her the first time since she joined her

"I'll see you when i get back from work" She winked at her younger sister who was not so pleased at her mysterious behaviour
