Chapter Twenty Seven

Ryujin put on her black hoodie like a spy and hoped no one would catch her or spot her car outside the gate

She chose to go to the Hwang mansion after work instead of home and to her frustration, there was no sign of Yeji nor her car

Ryujin opened the car window wanting to enhale fresh cold air and then took a packet of chips to pass time

She rubbed her eyes and smacked her cheeks in hopes of not falling asleep

And finally the gate opened and a black car went out

Ryujin tried as hard as she can to see who was inside the car but to no luck she could not see anything

"What are you doing?"

Ryujin jumped and almost dropped the whole pack of chips inside her car almost causing a mess

Ryujin noticed that Yeji was also wearing a dark hoodie and they were actually matching

"Are you stalking me?" Yeji asked her yet another question

Ryujin sat herself up and cleared her throat

"The guards have been monitoring your car and you should thank your lucky stars that i knew it was you"
Yeji informed her

"And they allowed you outside the gates at this hour? How reckless of them!"

Ryujin tried to deflect the situation

"This better be the last time i see you here and i'm begging you to please stay away from me" Yeji pleaded with her

"I don't want to"

"Excuse me?" Yeji shook her head
"I'm going to ask the guards to escort you out of here"

Ryujin did the opposite and stepped outside of the car

And then took Yeji by her arms and carefully pinned her against the car with both of her arms closing the possibility of Yeji escaping

"Are you sure you want to do that?" She whispered looking directly into Yeji's eyes

"Someone might see us" Yeji tried her best to avoid Ryujin's intense eye contact

"If you think that offer is enough to make me stay away from you then you are mistaken babe" Ryujin pulled away from her

"You are too busy preaching about me not putting myself first when you don't even practice what you exactly preach"
"What happened to that Yeji that told me she would risk it all for us?"
"What happened to fighting for your own identity? Are you scared that you might be seen as a disappointment or let down by society because of the status of your family?"

"If you really cared about me you wouldn't have let that lousy offer come in between us and growing up in unfortunate circumstances will never make me accept it"
She then exhaled
"Money can fix problems temporarily but..."
"...It will never replace the love that i have for you"

"You can get your guards for as long as i care. I may be banned from seeing you but you will always be with me"
She then pointed to her chest, "Here"

"I won't bother you anymore but if you change your mind, you will find me waiting for you with open arms"
"Good luck with the exams"

Ryujin then smirked as she was now holding the driver's door open,
"You look cute in that hoodie"
She then hopped inside the vehicle

Yeji was looking down at the road in the darkness

Ryujin peeked her head out, "The least i can do is to make sure you got inside safely" She gestured towards the gate

Yeji broke out from whatever trance she was and made her way to her house

She safely got inside and turned around to look at Ryujin who already drove away

Ryujin felt cold water hit her face and rubbed the water off her eyes to clear her vision,
"What was that for?"

Lia dragged a chair and sat on the side Ryujin was facing, "It's 2pm on a Sunday morning and if you think you're going to spend the whole day in bed sulking, then you're wrong"
"Look now!" She placed her hands on her mouth
"Your bed is wet where are you going to sleep?" Lia faked her concern

Ryujin adjusted herself so she could sit on her butt, "I came home late and  i happened to oversleep"
"I'm going to get you for this" Ryujin said as she felt her wet hair

"I miss Yeji too but do you see me sulking and hiding in my room the whole day?" Lia stated

"You shouldn't have stopped me"

"It was Chaeryeong, not me"
"I'm like the captain of the ship i will never do such a thing"
"Now get up and go take a shower, and meet me downstairs"
Lia hopped out of the room

Ryujin went downstairs after getting herself cleaned up and became curious on why Lia wanted her to be there so bad

Ryujin heard Mark, Yuna, Chaeryeong and Minju playing table pool outside by the garden and went out to confirm and it was definitely them

Ryujin turned around to go back to her room but Lia stopped her from doing so,
"No No No"

"Why is everyone here and shouldn't Mark be at work?"
"Is this some kind of a pity party?"
Ryujin was annoyed at the thought of socializing

"And what is she doing here?"

Lia looked behind to see where Ryujin was looking

"She's your best friend, are you crazy?"

"Well... I don't feel comfortable breathing the same air as her"
"Actually... I can't stand sharing the same air with all of you" She raised her voice to the point everyone heard her
"I need everyone out of my house" Ryujin blurted

"Ryujin you can't do that" Yuna scolded her

"I just did"

"I'm the one who invited them over here and so they are here for me"
"You can't kick out guests who came for me" Yuna stood her ground

"Oh you're now making decisions?"
"You're a big girl now?"
Ryujin shot at her

Minju stepped forward and dragged Ryujin out of the garden and to the kitchen, "This is unnecessary"
"The only person you should be angry with is Yeji and not us"

"Don't involve yourself in business that does not concern you"

"What are you going to do Ryujin? Kick me out?"
Minju raised her arms in the air

Ryujin leaned back and made her hair messy by running her hands through,
"I honestly don't know what to do"

"And you are taking it all out on your friends?"
"I brought my notes so we can study together for tomorrow's test and i'm not taking no for an answer"
Minju commanded

Minju looked around before whispering, "You were with her yesterday?"
"How did it go?"

"Oh shut up" The corner of Ryujin's mouth twitched

"You're such a bad liar Ryujin"

Ryujin smiled to herself like an idiot, "You have no idea what i have done"
