Mental health is not a joke, people who seek therapy are not crazy or psychos. Consider it this way if your tooth aches you would go to the dentist, right? Similarly mental issues require a therapist and it can happen to anyone just like a toothache, if it’s not visible doesn’t mean its not there and ignoring mental health is not a very healthy practise.
This message stuck with me from the various research material I consumed from google searches for blogposts to YouTube videos I spent a lot of my free time researching about therapy and if I should consider it not and today, I am going for my first session, very nervous about the prospects. Giovanni did his bit as well, he consulted Lorenzo about getting an appointment with the leading therapist in entirety of Rome and Lorenzo got me a session with Dr.Marconi a world famous psychiatrist operating from his humble clinic in Rome and his clientele involved famous celebrities world over.
I was both hopeful and apprehensive because of this fact because if he is dealing with such stars maybe he would be an arrogant prick but also if he can sort out the crazy lives of people like that then maybe he could also sort out a simple teenager like me.
My appointment was scheduled at 10am in the morning and I woke up at 6am and sat up against the bed and my mind started going off on a tangent the moment I was fully awake.
I didn’t want to stress myself first thing in the morning I washed my face, brushed my teeth drank some water and changed into my sportswear and went for a long run and then came back for an hour-long boxing session with Adriano.
I took a refreshing bath in my bathtub using exotic oils to uplift my mood. I wore an avocado green midi dress. And white flats. Giovanni arrived at sharp 8.30 am to pick me up and we drove to the clinic together and reached after a 40 minute drive.

We waited in the waiting area because our appointment was scheduled at 10, which gave me ample amount of time to access the surrounding. The waiting area was simple yet had a homely feel to it the walls were adorned with mysterious works of art and other decoratives, there were some plaques that had deep quotes like “follow your intense obsessions mercilessly” and “youth is magical because it has the ability to appreciate the beauty, someone who keeps this ability never grows old” “Life is not worth living if you don’t grow and take risks, death will come anyways but don’t live a dying life”
