"Don't get antsy, yet," Professor Heman's scolded us and she moved from board to her desk. The class was suppose to end in three minutes but of course, she had more to say. She began rummaging through some paper and Eric shot me a confused look but I just shrugged.

Finally Professor Hemans pulled out a pile of papers, "A project!" She proclaimed causing a chorus of groans, "Pass this around. Oh, don't complain!" She instructed one of the students in the front row, "It's easy. The only easy anything you'll ever get from me." I chuckled. I could already see this being a class I'd have to withdraw from. The papers finally made its way to Eric and I.

"Pick a partner," Easy, Eric. She raised a finger and continued on, "But you cannot pick the person you're sitting next to." Damn. I looked over my shoulder. There was medium skinned, Indian boy sitting behind me. He was already looking at me. I paused for a second. Something about him looked familiar but I don't fucking know, like I knew him from somewhere. He looked cool, though.

I raised my eyebrow, "Wanna be partners?" I asked. He just nodded silently, "Cool." I looked over at Eric to see he had partnered with a girl in the class. He was leaned over in her direction.

Professor Hemans leaned back against the wall, "It's just a family tree. Talk to your partner, learn their history, their genetic make up. Next week you'll present your partner and vice versa. Don't make it harder than it has to be. Have a good day." With that she dismissed us. I gathered my shit and stood up.  I turned back to my project partner.

"Hey, what's your name?" I stuck my hand out for him to shake. He just eyed my face then my hand. I was about to take it back when he suddenly put his hand in mine and shook it firmly.

"Faiyaz." He said lowly. Well he's an odd one.

"Right. I'm Gavin." I stuck my hand out and grabbed it. I heard Eric laugh loudly. I turned quickly to see him walking out with his new partner who was laughing just as stupidly at something he just said. I rolled my eyes. Get to know me my ass.

Faiyaz coughed and my attention shot back to him, "So you wanna work on this now or like-"

"Yeah!" I shouted, his eyes widened in shock. I could feel my cheeks warm in embarrassment, "Sorry. But yeah, now is fine." I mumbled. Anything to get my mind off of that nigga, "Library."

"Sure, man." He said, still staring at me oddly. God, I've probably thinks I'm a weirdo with inside voice problems, "So, Library?"

"I'll follow you,  I don't know where that is." I admitted. I only knew how to get to my classes and back to my dorm. Shit, Drea just showed me how to get to the cafeteria two days ago. I moved out the way to let him walk pass me and I followed silently.

I'd be stupid to get involved with another man that didn't even know what the fuck he wanted. That was high school Gavin, college Gavin needed to be smarter.

"You a first year, too?" I asked him.

Faiyaz shook his head, causing his hair to fly in different direction, "No, this is my sophomore year. You like it here? I know it's the first month and shit but still."

"Yeah." I said. I mean it was true, the only issue was Eric. I shook that thought out of my head. He was no longer an issue.

"Cool."

The library wasn't actually that far from the class and it was towards the way of my dorm, too. Good. So I won't have to fucking figure out how to get home. I went towards an empty table but Faiyaz grabbed shoulder. I looked at him confused but he just shook his head and steered me towards one of the study room.

"Don't we have to like reserve these or some shit." I questioned, walking into the room. It was kind of small room with dark green walls, a round table and six chairs. There was a small window toward the top of the wall that just looked back into the main library.

Faiyaz shrugged, "Looks unreserved to me." He's got back, throwing his stuff down. Fuck it.

I pulled me out a chair and fished out the paper and a pen from my bad and Faiyaz did the same. I looked over the questions and chuckled.

"So...," I started and looked at him with a small smile, "What's your name?"

"Faiyaz Williams." He said with a straight face. I started at with with a surprised expression. Before I could open my mouth he said, "Don't start. My Indian mother married a white guy from Massachusetts." He facepalmed. I looked back down at the paper,

"Oh, that's the next question, too. So you're from Massachusetts?"

"No, I'm from Cali. My dad is from Massachusetts," Faiyaz clarified and rolled his eyes. Oh, right.

I lit up and snapped my fingers, "I thought you looked familiar! What part of Cali?" I saw something flash in his eyes but just as quickly it was gone. He sat up straighter.

"Prescott." He coughed into his hand. He fidgeted in his seat and studied his own paper, "So what's your name?" No way. I'm from fucking Prescott.

"Gavin Adams," I rushed out before getting to the what I really wanted to know, "Bro, I fucking lived in Prescott. We probably went to fucking school together. What school—"

"We did go to school together." He finally admitted so low I almost didn't hear it. I fell back against my chair. I was getting the feeling he was uncomfortable but I was too curious to really care. I was too happy to have someone that was from where I was.

"Did you like play sports or something. You look like you did. Did we have music class together or something?" My eyes trailed his body. He was fit and he looked like he had muscles under that jean jacket. Not like a football build but like he played baseball at least. He was really cute in the face, too, how did I miss him. He was eyes were a deep brown and his lips were full and pink against his darker skin. His hair also fell short at eye level. He was gorgeous really.

He shook his head, "I wasn't into sports much or anything really," then he finally looked back up at me, "You dated one of my friends I think." My smile fell.

My eyes went back to the paper, "You're one of Jay's friends?" I spat out. I don't remember him ever hanging around Jay. But there was a lot of people I didn't know hanging around Jay. Especially when I wasn't around. I gripped my pen a little bit harder.

"I mean we were friends." He corrected and my ears perked up, "We fell out a little before my junior year." Oh. I was just a sophomore then, out but still with Jay. He was just in the closet. So he wouldn't have known about it. But how would he even know that I was with Jay. As if he could see the questions floating in my head he answered, "He randomly hit me up when you first got here to see if I could get you to text him back or some shit," Faiyaz laughed awkwardly.

I was still confused, "What made him think I would even listen to you? Or that you would even help him if y'all fell out." Jay just found a way into every aspect of my life. Men.

"Something about gay men having to stick together." He laughed at how ridiculous that sounded and I did the same. My eyes widened and suddenly Jay was an afterthought. I had just found out this gorgeous man in front of me was gay and I had all the time in the world to find out everything about him. Thank you, Professor Hermans.

Then a sneaky idea popped up into my mind and I tried to bite back my smirk.

"This room is making me like fucking claustrophobic."

"Yeah," Faiyaz eyed the wall, "It is kind of like cramped in here." He said innocently, "We can go back to my dorm."

I jumped at the chance, "Hell yeah." I said. Faiyaz just nodded and we started gathering our shit. Little did he know I was on a fucking mission now.
