12 | god is a woman

— THE GROUP OF FOUR got off the train and hopped on to the platform at Hogwarts. The walked along a little, Hermione, Ron and Rosanna lingering behind Harry a little. As they walked they heard a few sets of footsteps come up behind them. When Rosanna heard the voice she couldn't help but till her eyes and hold back a groan. "I'm surprised the ministry's still letting you walk around free Potter" Malfoy teased.

"You better enjoy it while you can" Malfoy continued. "I reckon there's a cell in Azkaban with your name on it" Harry lunge for Malfoy but was held back by Ron and Rosanna and making Malfoy jump backwards. "What I tell you? Complete nutter" Malfoy muttered to his goons before walking off.

"You stay away from me!" Harry yelled after him. "It's only Malfoy mate" Ron said before Harry shrugged his and Rosanna's hands off him and marched on ahead. They continued following on behind him until they reached where the carriages were that would take them to the castle.  "Hi guys" Neville said as he walked up and stood beside them. "Hiya Neville" Rosanna smiled.

"What is it?" Harry asked making them look at him and turn around to see only a carriage. "What's what?" Ron asked. "That" Harry said as he looked at something they couldn't see. "Pulling the carriage"

"Nothing's pulling the carriage Harry" Hermione said. "It's pulling itself like always"

"You're not going mad" Came a dreamy voice from on the carriage. "I can see them too, you're just as sane as I am" they said as the put down their quibbler to reveal their face. Rosanna knew the girl as she had been in her class the previous year. The group of five got up onto the carriage and sat down. Rosanna sat down next to Luna as no one else really wanted to which made her want to slap some sense into them. She was a lovely girl.

"Everyone this is Looney..." Hermione quickly stopped herself. "Luna Lovegood" she said quickly as she looked around embarrassed of herself. "I love your necklace Luna" Rosanna complimented. "It's a charm actually" she said. "Keeps away the nargales" Luna whispered to her with a nod and Rosanna just smiled.

"Hungry, I hope there's pudding" Luna said. "Oh me too" Rosanna said making the young girl smile lightly.

"Ah hello Rosanna dear" McGonagall smiled as she greeted the girl in a warm hug. "Always lovely to see you again Minnie" Rosanna said making the woman tut at the name she truly did love. "So where will I be staying?" Rosanna asked making McGonagall nod and begin to lead the way. "You'll be staying near Gryffindor tower" McGonagall informed her. "You'll be close to my room as well"

The two continued to walk through the halls that Rosanna had so dearly missed. After a few minutes the reached where she'd be staying. "You can put whatever password you'd like on the door" McGonagall told her. "Dinner will be in half an hour, try and make sure you're on time" McGonagall said making Rosanna smile. "I'll try my best Minnie" And with that McGonagall left her to it.

Rosanna walked in with her old trunk in her hand and was pleasantly surprised with her room. It had its own little kitchen area and a living room and then a bedroom she presumed was behind the door in the corner. "This will do me perfectly" she said with a bright smile. She walked further into the living room and noticed a note in the table.

Dear Rosanna,

I would like to thank you again for helping me look after Harry this year.

As promised you will be able to go home and see Sirius whenever you wish. However, instead of you coming to my office every time I've set your fireplace up to let you visit instead.

I assumed it would be easier for you if it was just in your room.

And at that moment, she loved that man for the first time in years. Well maybe rephrase that, she partly liked him for the first time in years. She placed the note down on the table before making her way over to her room. She opened up the door and smiled as she took in the room around her. There was lots of plants everywhere and a record player in the corner with a few records on a shelf next to it.

"Thank you Minnie" Rosanna smirked. She walked over to the bed and placed her trunk on the bed and opened it up. She decided to hang up some her clothes before dinner. Once she had done that it was time to pick an outfit to wear to the dinner. She looked through her clothes and finally decided on a flowy white dress that fell just above her knee.

She put on the dress and used a spell to wave her hair slightly. She then put on a necklace Sirius had given her when they were in 7th year. Really he had stolen it from his mother before he ran away. She then pulled on her pair of white converse. She would put on some sort of high heels but she's not overly great in walking in them. She looked at herself in the mirror and smiled. "God is a woman and I am her" She smiled as she looked herself up and down.

She looked up at the clock that was in her room and cursed at herself when she realised she was late. "Please don't kill me Minnie" Rosanna mumbled to herself as she ran out the room and down the corridors towards the great hall. As she opened the doors all heads turned to her. A lady in a pink dress had obviously just stood up to have a speech and stood there glaring at her.

"I'm really sorry Ma'am" Rosanna whispered to her before quickly running to take her seat in between Hagrid and McGonagall. "As I was saying, I'm sure we'll all going to be very good friends" The woman said with a sickly-sweet smile. "That's likely" Rosanna could hear the Weasley twins say not so quietly making her have to hold back a laugh.

"The Ministry for Magic has always considered the education of young witches and wizards to be a vital importance" she said. "Although each headmaster s brought something new to this.. Historic school" she said as she looked back at Dumbledore making him smile and nod confusedly. "Progress for the sake of progress must be discouraged" she said and Rosanna could see Hermione getting fidgety in her seat as she listened.

"Let us preserve what must be preserved, perfect what can be perfected and improve practices that ought to be.. Prohibited" The woman said with a little giggle at the end before finally walking off making Rosanna let out a sigh of relief. Rosanna couldn't help but laugh quietly when she saw Dumbledores face after her speech.

"Thank you Professor Umbridge, that really was most illuminating" Dumbledore said. "Fucking illuminating?" Rosanna mumbled to herself.

...

"I wish you lot good luck with that new Defence professor" Rosanna laughed as she sat in the Gryffindor common room with Harry, Hermione, Ron and the twins. "I don't think she liked when you interrupted her" Fred said making Rosanna smile. "Oh well, I certainly won't be in a rush to be her friend anyway" Rosanna shrugged.

"She was at my hearing when they were deciding if I could come back" Harry said making Rosanna look over at him. "Strange" Rosanna mumbled. "Fudge really needs some sense knocked into that delusional head if his" Rosanna said as she leaned back on the maroon couch.

"Are you teaching any classes while you're here?" Hermione asked Rosanna. "Not that I know of. I think I've just to linger about all day which is kind of boring but what can you do" Rosanna said. "Maybe I'll sit in some if you're classes to pass time"

"Anyway it's almost midnight, you lot need to get to bed, you've got classes in the morning" Rosanna said as she hauled herself of the couch. "Night guys" Rosanna said and a chorus of good night followed from the group as she left the room. As she left she spotted Umbridge walking about in her hot pink clothes that made Rosanna want to throw up.

I mean she liked colourful clothes but not that bright. All Rosanna could think about was how it was going to be a fun year with that woman.
