"LAME?" WAS THE ONLY word Claudia heard the person in front of her ask, and she swore her heart stopped in the process.

She could've sworn it was Remus there in front of her in that hallway. It was dark, and all she really saw were two brown eyes just like the ones he had. And, she knew for sure that it was a male and that he had called her that nickname that he, and only him, used to use for her.

But, as she shook herself back to reality and actually took notice of how her eyes were adjusting to take in the person in front of her who was still holding a soft hold of her shoulders, she saw that the person was in fact not Remus.

The eyes were smaller, older and weirdly more mischievous than Remus' ever were, despite how he always used to have a glimt of that trait buried somewhere in his eyes.

"Lame?" The person asked again. "Holy shit, it is you!"

"Wha-"

"Cora, you've got to look at this!" The man in front of her called out, still holding onto a very confused Claudia's shoulders as he dragged her along with him inside the kitchen.

Luckily, the lights were on in there, and Claudia also took notice of the fact that a meal was clearly being cooked considering that the familiar smell of cheese caught her attention.

But, the fact that the lights were on and that a meal was being cooked wasn't exactly the thing that ended up causing Claudia to freeze and stare at the people in the room out of pure shock.

And, well, they all stared back at her. That was with the exception of the man behind her, of course, who only grinned widely as he watched the frozen girl, who now was standing next to him.

At first, Claudia didn't really recognise them. She knew that she knew them somehow, of course, but it didn't seem to fully click for her who they were until the woman's shocked expression started to turn into a wide smile.

"Cora?"

"Oh, my little girl," the woman, who was indeed named Cora, said in an airy voice with her familiar Californian accent, before nearing Claudia quickly and wrapping her arms around her in a hug.

"What're you...what're you guys doing here?" Claudia asked confusedly, breaking the hug yet still holding onto Cora. "How did you get inside?"

"Well," the man next to her, who she recognised as John, said. "Those are two questions that will be answered after you have greeted me properly, Lame. There's no way you prefer my sister over me enough to ignore me as much as you have done so far."

Cora sighed, "John, let her be! She obviously just woke up!"

"Calm down, C," John smirked. "I was only messing with her."
