Leo's POV
"I thought we agreed to give each other some space," He said, more like a statement than a question, I grimaced at the tone of his voice and the rain outside begun to fall harder,
"We did, but I just wanted to make sure you're okay," I said back to him, my lips were turning red from the way I kept biting them, "It's been a month since I heard from you,"
"Leo, I'm a big boy, I can take care of myself," He said back with a scoff, I rolled my eyes and I was grateful he couldn't see that,
"I know, but still, you went dark for a month, so forgive me for panicking," I snapped back at him,
"Leo-"
"Derek, don't," I said cutting him off, thunder rolled in the distance,
"Leo, we agreed to give each other space, and you calling me every other day isn't giving each other space," Derek said back to me, I sighed and rolled over in my bed, I stared up at the ceiling, his voice got lower as he talked, "I know tonight's a full moon, and trust me it's hard on me too being this far away from you, but we can't keep this up, not forever,"
"Well, if you would just come home it wouldn't be so hard on either of us!" I snapped at him, thunder clapped directly above our house,
"You know I can't... not yet," He muttered, I sighed louder this time, "You know I love you-"
"I love you too," I said quickly,
"And you know I miss you, right?" He asked,
"Yes," I said back to him,
"Then you know why I have to do this," He said and I got quiet, "My mother or Laura aren't here to teach me how to use my gifts, and Beacon Hills has too many distractions-"
"I'm a distraction!"
"Would you let me finish!" He said loudly, he didn't say it with any anger or malice, just exhaustion,
"M'sorry," I said softly,
"If I'm going to be the man, that my mother wanted me to be, that Beacon Hills needs me to be... that you deserve, I needed to go," He told me, my cheeks became wet as tears begun to run down my face onto my pillows, "And one day, I will come back, and I'm coming straight to you, because you, Leo Prince, are my endgame, you always have been, and you always will be, I know it my heart, my soul, and the wolf inside me that is just purring listening to the sound of you're voice,"
I chuckled softly at that, and the rain eased up.
"I need to be a better man, and you need to become an Alpha in your own right, and we can only do that..." He trailed off,
"If were apart," I muttered into the phone, "So is this goodbye then?"
"No, it's a see you soon," He said to me, there was a brief pause on his side, like he wanted to say something more, and I waited to hear it, "Leo, no matter what I will always l-"
