I could clearly remember Charlie warning me about Bella's nightmares and he hadn't talked much about Edward except to say he was gone so I was assuming this was before the whole Volturi fiasco.
I decided to pry a bit to see if I can get any answers "So...Uncle Charlie, What's the deal with Bella's Ex? You said she was having nightmares since he left?" I asked as casually as possible but I knew my mannerisms were slightly off.
I may have the last 18 years of memories now but it felt more like the old me and new me were now mixed. I have so many memories to work through, it was slightly daunting.
Charlie grimaced and scowled at the road "Yeah, Edward, I never really liked him. Always gave me the creeps, the whole Cullen family were a little, Ah strange" He said carefully, stumbling a few times as he tries to find the right words.
I nodded along "Was he rude or something?" I asked trying to get him to elaborate.
He shook his head "No, nothing like that, he was always polite. It was just this feeling I got whenever he was around, how he would look at people. Probably just overreacting, He was dating my daughter after all. It would be strange if I did like him" he said dismissively.
I nodded "I guess, how's Bella doing since he left? You told me about the nightmares but is there anything else I should be ready for?" I asked casually as I looked out the window.
He looked awkward for a few seconds before grimacing "Well, She doesn't really do much anymore. She's gotten kinda depressed since he left, just spends all her time sitting there. I'm hoping with you around she might perk up a bit" He said awkwardly as he ran his hand through his hair.
I shrugged "Well it's normal to be upset over your first big breakup. I'll try and get her out of the house but sometimes it's better to just leave it alone. She's still a teenager and they don't really like it when you put your nose in their dating life, She might just do something reckless and stupid if we push" I told him reluctantly. Yeah, like jumping off cliffs and getting on Motorcycles with the definition of sleazy...
He scrunched up his eyebrows "I suppose your right, I'm just worrying. She's been in a funk for months now" He said as we continued to drive through Forks.
I tried to smile reassuringly "Well, I'll try, I just don't want you to get your hopes up. Usually it takes a new boy sniffing around for a girl to get over a bad break up" I said sarcastically.

Before I could continue to dwell on that thought we pulled into the driveway of my new home.
