Narrator's pov
Abhinav brought her directly to their bedroom's balcony. He made her sit on her favourite swing and settled himself on a chair in front of her.
She looked down not wanting him to see her ruddy face. He gripped her chin gently and lifted her face towards him. He chuckled in amusement seeing her all red from blushing.
"Are you okay, Butterfly?". He asked with a gentle smile to which she nodded shyly. He stroked her cheeks staring at her intensely.
"I am so delighted that you decided to give me a chance. I did everything in haste and you didn't get enough time to adjust to all this. I am sorry for that and I promise baby this time I will try my best to keep you comfortable".
Feeling his gaze on her, she nervously put her hair strands behind her ear. He took her left palm in his and gazed at the ring he made her wear. It looked huge for her dainty finger. He recalled how he compelled her to wear that.
"Baby, Did you got scared when I made you wear this ring that day?". He asked playing with her fingers.
"Hmm. When di said she returned that ring to you I was so s.scared that you will hurt me. But you made me wear this ring. I was confused why you were making me wear a ring. I know you did it as my punishment for what I did. Maybe I deserved it". Pooja replied meekly remembering those times.
"No baby. You didn't deserve anything I did to you. It was just my stubborn decision to make you wear this ring. You were always a good girl". Abhinav said and kissed her knuckles.
"I just wanted you to be mine. I made you wear this ring to make you realise that I want you in my life. I knew I was being selfish by not giving you a chance. But it was one of the best decisions I took. You don't have any idea how much it helped us". He mumbled the last part.
"How?". Pooja asked curiously hearing his words.
"Well, this ring has a tracker installed in it. It always helped me to find you when you were in danger". He explained making her gasp and her eyes widened in surprise.
"I.is that how you reached everywhere I went?". She enquired in a panic-stricken voice thinking of the times he appeared in front of her.
"No. I had kept guards behind you. They will inform me when you go somewhere or you got into some troubles". Abhinav replied truthfully not wanting to hide anything from her.
She tried to pull back her hand after hearing his confessions. However, he was quick enough to grip her hand back.
"I know what I did was not appropriate, butterfly. I just wanted to make sure that you are safe. Those people who kidnap you that day was behind you from the day your di decided to file a complaint against me. When I got to know about this I had no other option than to keep my guards for your security". He clarified the reason behind his actions.
"Will they harm my maa and di too?". She asked worrying about them.
"You don't have to worry about that. My men will follow them for security. If something bad happens then we will be there for help". He ensured and Pooja smiled at him gratefully.
"Thank you so much for protecting us. I never knew you did this much for us...". She uttered sadly for not seeing his efforts for them.
"There is no need to thank me. Your family is important to me just like mine. Sometimes I feel like I too got someone to say as family... That they are my family too...". He grinned thinking about that. They sat there in comfortable silence for some minutes.
"Will you let me call them once? I want to hear maa's voice. They might be worried for me. I promise I won't talk for long. I just want to inform them that I am safe". She asked.
