Cassie's POV
"Oh, what the hell is this?" Dad groans after taking a bite of his burger. "Veggie burger." Stiles replied.
"Stiles, I asked for a hamburger." Dad says with his mouth full. "Well, veggie is heathier. We're being healthy." Stiles says, and I roll my eyes at him as I just stare at my food.
"I'm not eating this." I told Stiles. He sighs as Dad looks at his food. "Why are you trying to ruin my life?" Dad asks.
Stiles looks at us, "okay, I'm trying to extend your life, okay? Could you two just eat it, please?" Stiles asks us, I sigh before leaning forward grabbing my burger.
"And tell me what you have?" Stiles adds while I take a bite of my food. "No, I'm not sharing confidential police work with a teenager." Dad says and Stiles looks on the board behind him.
"Is that it on the board behind you?" Stiles asks dad not taking his eyes off of it. Dad glanced at the board then at Stiles. "Don't look at it. Avert your eyes." Dad tells him. But Stiles keeps his eyes on the board.
"I-I... I see arrow pointing at pictures." Stiles says as he looks at it. "Fine! I found something." Dad gives up, and Stiles looks back at dad.
I sigh knowing Stiles will beg dad for more information later. "Mechanic and the couple who were murdered. They all had something in common." Dad explains, and I stare at him confused.
"All three?" Stiles looks at dad to go on. "Yeah, you know what I always say. One's an incident. Two's coincidence..."
"Three's a pattern." Stiles and I cut off dad at the same time. "The mechanic, the husband, the wife--all the same age. All 24." Dad says.
I frown...that's...it? Wait?!
"Wait a minute, what about Isaac's dad...He isn't anywhere near 24." I asked. "Which made me think that either A Lahey's wasn't connected or B the ages were a coincidence, until I found this, which one be C." Dad says before he gives up a folder.
Stiles opens the folder and looks inside of it. "Dad you know that Isaac Lahey had an older brother named Cameron?" Dad says. I looked at the papers shocked. "Died in combat?" I whisper.
"But if he were alive today, take one guess as to how old he'd be..." Dad asks us.
I look back at dad. "24." I answered.
After a few times of guessing why the murderer is going after these people, we stand looking at the board. "Now what if same age means same class, did you think of that?" Stiles asks. "Yeah, yeah...well, I would've. I mean, I--Look, I just got Lahey's file two hours ago." Dad says, Stiles whipped his head over to dad.
