Izuku's POV

Before looking for a place to live, I decide to take another walk around the town. I pass the somewhat familiar pet store, diner, and bookstore. I almost turn around before seeing that unowned cafe type place. I see someone approaching the same place. They look like a realtor of some sort.

"Excuse me, are you the realtor for this place?"

"Yes. Why, are you interested in the place?"

"Yeah. It seems like a nice place, and I wouldn't mind running a cafe. Especially not in such a nice place." She seems both confused and concerned. "I have the money to pay for it, and my dad is okay with this."

"What about your mom?"

"She isn't around. I can try and call my dad, but I'm not sure if he'll answer." I look at her and she seems to consider letting me buy the place before shaking her head.

"I'll need to meet him, and he'll need to buy it. Sorry kid, I can't legally do this. I'll be here until 5 PM today." She unlocks the place and seemingly tidies the place up. I turn around and walk back down to the park I was near and sit down on a bench.

I must not have noticed how tired I was, because I fell asleep after a few minutes. I feel someone shaking me and I open my eyes to see a vaguely familiar person. I can't exactly notice him, but it feels like I've met him before.

"Kid, are you alright? Where are your parents?" I'm too tired to think of a lie at the moment, so I put a finger up and start to rub my eyes with my right hand.

"My mom died almost a year ago. My dad left my mom and I when I was four after learning that I was quirkless. I have nowhere to go." He looks concerned, and then offers me a hand.

"Here, let me take you to a shelter or somewhere."

"No, it's fine. There was this place..." Then, an idea comes into my mind. "Excuse me, but can you play the part of my dad, please?" He looks at me stunned. "I should explain first. There's this cafe type place for sale, and the person selling it won't let me buy it without parental consent." He looks a little nervous before nodding at me and smiling. I can swear I've seen him somewhere before...

We walk back to the store and see the woman locking up. "Well, you're back. And with your father, I'm presuming. But I gotta say kid, you picked a really bad person to pretend to be your dad. You look nothing alike. You've got curly green hair, and his is straight and blond. Any explanation?"

"Excuse me? This is my son. We might not look alike, but he's still my son. I adopted him a few months after his mother died." I look at him in awe. I've only known this guy for a few minutes, but he's already willing to stick his neck out for me. No one's ever done that for me.

"I'm sorry sir. I didn't-"

"It's fine. But I believe my son told you that he had permission to buy this space for me. I'd like to take a look around before making my decision, if that's alright." She nods her head, and we walk in. Before the man and I walk in, he pulls me aside.

"Kid, what's your name?"

"Izuku. I'd give you my last name, but it doesn't matter. I'll need to use yours to make this all convincing."

"I'm Toshinori Yagi, nice to meet you, Izuku." We walk in and see the woman waiting. She gives us a quick tour, and I can't help containing my enjoyment of the place. It's got a little area above the cafe that I can turn into a bedroom, and the kitchen area is really nice. That's one thing I miss the most; being able to bake and cook.

"And that concludes our tour. So, what do you guys think?" I look over to Toshinori and nod. He smiles and looks at the realtor and nods. They go sit down to sign the paperwork and I walk back up to the bedroom.

I look around and think about how I can make it my own space. While I'm thinking, Toshinori comes up the stairs and looks around the place. He looks at me and his face seemingly questions me. I realize I'm smiling and say, "What? I REALLY like it here."

"I'm glad. Here are the keys. It's all yours." He tosses me the keys and I catch them. I look at them and my smile gets wider. Today went from really shitty to surprisingly great. "By the way, I'm gonna be coming around here every now and then to check on you."

I look at him and thank him. He smiles at me and walks out of my place. I walk in and grab my bag from off one of the tables downstairs and bring it upstairs. I then go back downstairs and remember I don't have a bed. I then also realize that I never handed Toshinori any money, and he just paid for any fees.

I run out of the building and see if I can find him. I can't see him anywhere and put my head down. I walk down the sidewalk until I find a small furniture store. I walk in and take a look at their selection of beds before picking a memory foam queen-sized mattress. I pick up some sheets and pillows before heading home and setting them up in my room. I run back and grab a futon as well before getting everything ready in my room.

I get ready for bed, and all I can think is how hopeful the future looks. Things seem to be going my way. I hope it stays that way for a while.
