Izuku's POV
Walking into the building, I notice that Hound Dog is sitting and chatting with Recovery Girl and Lunch Rush. Knowing what I do about their jobs, I can already guess that Eri will be permitted to stay with me and Ochaco. Lunch Rush is probably here to discuss a healthy diet for her, Recovery Girl is here to tell us when she'll need a checkup, and Hound Dog is here to help with therapy. Eri shrinks away from them, but Ochaco keeps her from fully hiding. Recovery Girl looks over and sees us. She looks down at Eri and offers a smile.
Eri looks at me to see if she can trust Recovery Girl, and I nod. She relaxes and moves slightly towards them. I walk with her, and she goes up to them and introduces herself. "H-hi, I-I-I'm E-Er-ri." She looks at me and I smile. She seems content with that and looks back at the three pros. I ask Ochaco if she can watch Eri while I go look for Nezu, and she agrees. Eri seems a bit apprehensive to the idea of me leaving her with Ochaco, but I give her a hug and tell her that Ochaco will take great care of her.
I walk over to a hallway with a bunch of names on them and take a quick look at all the names. The last door on the right has Nezu's name on it, so I go over and knock to make sure Aizawa let him know we were coming. "Come in." I open the door and enter, closing the door as I step in. Nezu is sitting behind his desk, his paws folded on the top of it. I walk over to the seat in front of the desk and sit down. "Hello, Midoriya. How are you? How has U.A. been treating you?"
"I'm doing pretty good. U.A. has been a more difficult challenge than I'd like to admit but adjusting has been easier with the help of my classmates."
"That's good. I know you're probably short on time, so I'll cut right to the chase. Eri needs someone to stay with, and while you're not an adult or technically mentally stable, you're the only person she'll talk to, so it would seem that you're our only choice. There are a few conditions, however. But you're a smart kid, so I'll let you guess what they are."
"Seeing as there are three pros sitting in the lobby, I can already guess those. Eri needs to have regular checkups with Recovery Girl, a new dietary plan if needed, and therapy. Because of what you said about me being mentally instable, I'd guess that last one goes for me too." He simply smiles and nods. While I appreciate the compliment about my wit, the insult was less needed.
"You may now go back to the two young ladies out in the lobby. They might miss you." I open my mouth to ask a question, but he puts a paw up and stops me. "We will have someone take them to go clothes shopping as soon as you leave. Another person will be adjusting your rooms in the dorms to accommodate for you three. Now go talk to All Might."
I think about asking how he knows that but decide not to and leave his office. I walk back to the lobby and go over to Eri and Ochaco. "Eri, I have some good news for you. You'll be staying with me and Ochaco from now on." Her face lights up at that and the faintest hint of a smile hints at her lips. Just the idea that she could smile makes me smile ear to ear. "First, you two need to go shop for toys and clothes and a bed." I see Ochaco get a troubled look on her face, but I shut her down quickly. "Don't worry about the money. I have enough you can use. I can show you where it's at, but I won't be able to go shopping with you. I have to meet with someone about something soon."
On the walk back to the dorms, I let my mind drift onto what All Might could talk to me about. The fact that the whole time, he was Yagi still puts me off, but I'm starting to look past it. Without him being there for me in the first place, I don't know where I'd be. As much as it hurt then and still hurts now, I can't feel too angry at him.
But what if he doesn't want to talk about that? What if he wants to tell me something important? I can't just blow it off because it's not what I want to hear. But, at the same time, I feel like I deserve to have that apology. I want to have that relationship I had with him a while ago, but I don't think I can ever truly get that back. What if this changes everything? What if this ruins things?
I snap myself out of my thoughts just as we get to the dorms. I open the door for Eri and Ochaco. They walk in and I walk in after them. Some people are in the common room, and this time, they notice Eri. People start to get up, but I stare them all down to keep them from moving over. "Everyone, this is Eri. We'll talk later." I pick Eri up and run upstairs, Ochaco following as quick as she can. I reach my dorm first and set Eri down. Ochaco gets to us a few seconds later, taking a few deep breaths to catch her breath. I open the door and walk over to my closet, opening it and pulling a small blanket off a safe.
I kneel down and unlock it, grabbing a stack of a couple thousand dollars. I close the safe and lock it again before covering it with the blanket again. I close the closet door and hand Ochaco the cash. She goes to refuse it at first, but I give her a good reason to take it. "This money was either going to go to us, or some drug lords' pocket. Please, use it." She reluctantly takes it, and I walk with them downstairs. I walk them to the car and wave them goodbye as the car drives off. When they're out of sight, I can feel my smile slip off my face.
Turning away, I prepare myself for the upcoming talk with Yagi. Whatever that may entail.
