Izuku's POV
I wake up to bright, blinding white lights above me. I go to rub my eyes but feel something restricting my wrists. I look down and see that I'm handcuffed to a hospital bed. I look around to get a handle on my surroundings. No one is in with me, but there's a camera trained on me. "Hey, can you come unlock these? I promised Shota Aizawa that I would willingly surrender after everything with the League was finished. Plus, I'd rather be interrogated in my own clothes, if you'd let me get them." I stare at it for a second longer before sighing and looking down. I lay my head back on the pillow and close my eyes, waiting for someone to come in.
After a few minutes, I hear the door open. I look up and see a man with black hair in a beige trench coat standing next to Eraserhead. Behind them are two men: a doctor and a police officer. "Sorry to keep you waiting, Midoriya. We just needed to gather everyone." Just by the way he slightly avoided eye contact, I can tell he's lying.
"Well, you can start the apology by telling me the truth. I know you're lying; you just didn't trust me. Now please, uncuff me. These things are annoying." He looks at me and whispers something to Aizawa.
"Will you stay in the bed and answer any questions we have honestly?"
"I will stay in the bed, but I'd like to answer your questions in a police station. I've always hated hospitals." Aizawa turns to look at the detective. The detective turns to him and nods.
"Alright. We'll undo the handcuffs, and we'll take you to our station. But you'll have to answer all our questions there. Deal?"
"Deal. I have nothing to lose anymore. I think I've done my best as a vigilante, and it might eb time to be held accountable for my actions." He nods at Aizawa again. The officer behind them uncuffs me and the doctor does a quick checkup. My left side still hurts, and they couldn't get me healed by Recovery Girl while I was asleep. I told them they didn't have to explain because I understood. The detective and Aizawa take me to a car outside after I'm cleared to go.
"We're gonna take you to the station, but we'll allow you to get some clothing from your house. Wherever that is." The detective looks at me through the rearview mirror. I say my address and he nods, punching it into his GPS before putting the car in drive. The car ride there is silent. I catch glimpses of myself in the mirror. I've looked better, but I've also looked worse.
After about an hour of driving, we get to my house. Aizawa gets out and opens my door, helping me get out. I see a crowd of people standing around the shop, staring at me. I notice all of them. "Hi, everyone. I understand if you're mad at me, but I kinda need to get into my house. I have to get some clothes so I can tell this guy everything before I'm in prison."
"Move." I turn my head and see Aizawa activate his quirk to try and scare the crowd into moving. I shake my head no and he stops using it.
"It's alright. They don't need to be intimidated or anything. I'll get through."
"No. I need to help you change so you don't reopen your stab wound." I stare at him before shrugging and turning back around. I make my way through the crowd, eventually getting to my front door.
"You have the key, right?" I turn and look at Aizawa. He gives me an inquisitive look before realizing that I don't have pockets. He shakes his head. I sigh and turn back to the door. I look around, trying to remember if I left a spare key anywhere. I don't think I did, so I'll have to get creative. I walk around the back and see the fire escape on the apartment building next to my house. "If you can get onto the fire escape and go to that window," I point to the window next to my bedroom with a little trim below it, "the window is unlocked, so you can just open it. Go down the steps and you'll be at the front. I'll be right at the door so you can let me in." He nods before going onto the fire escape. I walk back to the front and wait.
