~Hours later
(Yes, I will add to the smut, but I am not in the mood rn)
The bell sounds.
I look up, stopping with cleaning the machines. I don't expect it to be any of my guys, because they took coffee with them before they left—black of course—and they said they had a lot of work today.
It's a guy. My eyes narrow. I've seen that one before...
It's that Adam guy, the student Asher spoke up to!
He looks around, after which his eyes fall on me. He recoils in horror and backs away, slowly inching towards the door again.
I arch a brow. Isn't he supposed to be one of the 'bad boys' at campus? I heard Asher's stories about them, and they really are jerks.
His eyes roam over the shop, and something that's here—or isn't—calms him enough to walk to me. "A-a cappuccino, please. With extra whipped cream."
I make his order while keeping an eye on him. He seems nervous about something.
"You good?"
His head snaps to me and he visibly gulps before answering. "Yes, miss. Just hockey tryouts at college today. I'm curious what new guys can add to our team."
He's very polite right now, and he almost seems a sweet guy. Though I can't forget about Sophia's story—him and his friends locking her in the library, him keeping her in his arms and them scaring that poor girl.
I give him his coffee, to which his eyes avert. He seems to doubt something and takes a deep breath. "Um. Miss? I apologize for my behavior yesterday. It was very impolite from me to throw some insults to you, especially when you are respectful to me."
My eyebrows raise. This is not at all what I expected from him—what happened to the boy that groped Sophia?
He swallows. "I'd appreciate it if you could pass my apologies to sir Whitlock, since I am not seeing him until Friday. If you're not comfortable with that, I completely understand and will do it myself."
I'm speechless.
My mouth opens to tell him I will, but he shakes his head in frustration. "I'm sorry, miss. That's highly inappropriate. I'll see you when you attend sir Whitlock's classes again."
He leaves with that, leaving me impressed and suspicious. What just happened?
With my shock still burning through my veins, I continue cleaning the machines. This is none of my business, why is he apologizing to me?
The next time the bell rings, I'm done with cleaning the three coffee machines. I look up, bored out of my mind, and see an elder lady looking around.
I wave at her. Her eyes focus on me and she storms to the counter. I take a step back, unsure what she's going to do.
