Chapter Seventeen: Birthday Surprises

Hazel POV:

I bite down on my bottom lip, trying to contain my excitement as I wait for Mila to wake. It's her first birthday with us and I'm super excited. We have multiple surprises planned for her. I'm trying to be patient and let her wake up on her own time, but I'm struggling with not picking her up and shouting happy birthday.

"Let her sleep, babe. We have a long day today and she needs all the rest she can get." Theo admonishes from the other side of our bed. Mila is laying in between the two of us, looking like an angel.

"I know. I know." A sigh escapes me, but my smile stays plastered on my face. There's so much to do today and I can't wait to get started. Plus, we have some special visitors coming just for Mila.

Even Kai has something up his sleeve. I've tried to pretend like I haven't noticed the pile of presents sitting in his closet when I go to put away his laundry. They're all gifts Mila has asked for. I know she's going to love them.

"Look. She's doing that face she makes before she wakes up." Theo points towards Mila and I chuckle quietly. Her lips are pursed and her forehead is wrinkled. It makes her look pissed off that her body decided to wake her up.

I place my hand on her stomach, rubbing in gentle circles. "Mila, wake up." I whisper. Pretty hazel eyes open, meeting my brown ones. "Happy birthday, pea."

"Iss Miwa bwirfday!" Mila screeches, sitting up in bed and clapping her hands. This is the quickest I've ever seen her wake up.

"Happy birthday, ladybug!" Theo chimes in, lifting her up into his arms. He tosses her in the air and catches her. Little giggles escape my baby, making my husband and I laugh along with her.

"We have so many surprises planned for you!" The first surprise should actually be here soon. In fact, I'm pretty sure that they're already on an airplane heading this way right now.

"Pwize?" Mila asks adorably as she puts two fingers into her mouth.

"Yes, a surprise. How about we go get in the bath and get dressed? Mommy bought a special outfit for you to wear today." I offer.

Mila nods and stretches her arms out towards me. I take her from Theo and stand, carrying her into the bathroom. I'm sure Kai would love to see her before she gets in the bath, but I'm pretty sure he's still asleep. It's a Friday and he should be in school. I called him out for Mila's birthday weekend. Especially because we have an airplane to catch soon.

"Let's get you nakey. You need a bath. Your bum bum is stinky." I wrinkle my nose dramatically, making Mila belly laugh.

Once she's stripped and the bath water is running, I get naked and hop in with her. Theo chooses to take a quick shower.

"Dada butt!" Mila screeches, pointing to Theo's cheeks that are visible through the glass shower door. And what a nice ass it is.

"Let's not point at Dada's bum, hmm?" I ask, but really I'm telling. Mila nods and turns around in my lap, laying her head on my breast. We need to hurry and get out of this bath. Our visitors will be here soon and Kai isn't even awake.

I quickly get Mila out of the bath and carry her into the nursery. Her birthday outfit is the most adorable thing. A while onesie with the number three on it, a pink tutu, white knee socks that have pink bows at the top, a pink hair bow, and white Mary Jane shoes. She clearly loves the outfit based off of the little twists she's doing.

"Aren't you just the cutest little thing ever! Oh my goodness, Mama just loves you." My voice is high pitched and full of excitement as I stand Mila up on the changing table to take a photo. She gives the camera a toothy smile and poses with each picture I take.
