Mila POV:
Mommy lifts me out of my hospital bed, shushing me when I start to cry. My throat is owie and I dunno why. The doctors did it and they're not here to fix it. Snot comes out of my nose while I lay my head on Mama's shoulder. Daddy comes over and wipes up all my icky snot. "Come here, ladybug. Daddy's got you." He takes me from Mama's arms and kisses my cheek.
"Do you want to try and eat another popsicle?" Mama asks me. I shake my head and look around for my Nuk. The doctors took it when I went into the big, white room where I was put to sleep. They wouldn't let me have it when I started crying for Mama. The big, meanie doctor said I was acting like a baby, but I am a baby.
"Wan Nuk." I cry into Daddy's ear. Mama look around the room for my pink paci, and sighs when she can't find it. "Hold on, pea. Mommy has to get one from the diaper bag." She sets the bag on the hospital bed, then digs through everything until she finds my purple paci.
"Look, Mama found it. All better." She says, putting Nuk in my mouth. I suck on it while playing with Daddy's ear. I'm almost asleep again, when I feel like I have to go potty. I'm not in a diapee, so I have to tell Mama and Daddy when I have to go. "Potty." I whimper in his ear.
"You have to go potty?" Daddy asks. My throat is too owie to say a nothing, so I nod. "I'll take her, then put a diaper on her. We should be discharged soon, so we should get ready to go. Can you search through the bags for the outfit I packed for her?" Mama questions.
"Yeah." Daddy passes me over over to Mama, and she carries me to the potty. "You did such a good job not going pee pee in your panties, pea. I'm so proud of you." She tells me as I go tinkle on the potty, holding me up so I don't fall in. After I'm done, she wipes my bum, then carries me back into the room nakey. She's just finished dressing me, when a nurse comes into the room with some papers in her hands.
I ignore what she's saying as she talks to Mama and Daddy. Instead, I turn over and grab my blanky. I'm so sleepy and just want to take a nap. Maybe, I can even have some of Mommy's milky when we get home. My tummy isn't hungry, but I like being close to Mama's boobies. "If there's any problems, head back to the emergency room. Since she's so tiny, watch out for a fever. It could signify an infection." The nurse tells Mama.
"Thank you so much." Daddy thanks her, lifting me up into his arms. Nuk falls out of my mouth, but Daddy puts it back in. "I hope you get to feeling better soon, Miss Mila." Nurse lady tells me. I ignore her because she helped the dumbo doctor give me owies.
I'm carried all the way out of the hospital, and into my seat in the car. Daddy puts me in while Mama slides into the back next to me. She grabs my hand and rubs her finger over the back of it. "Kai messaged me before we left the hospital. He says he has a surprise for Mila." Daddy tells Mama. The car starts and we slowly start traveling down the road.
My head turns against the padded sides of my seat as I settle in to take a nap. I close my eyes Mama lifts up blanky, tucking her around my body. "Night night, pea."

Hazel POV:By the time we get Mila unloaded from the car, she's fast asleep and ready to be laid down. Kai and West greet us at the door with excited looks on their faces. Curious, I enter the house and stop dead in my tracks. There's a giant stuffed animal sitting on the couch. That thing is bigger than me. The white teddy bear has a pink bow wrapped around it's neck. I laugh at the ridiculous gift, knowing that Mila is going to love it.
"Holy shit, boys. Mila is going to scream when she wakes up and sees that thing." Theo laughs and slaps Kai on the back. He pulls West in and rubs his knuckles on top of his head. "She better. That thing was a hassle to get in the house. I have no idea how we're going to get it upstairs." West playfully pushes Theo away while he talks. I shake my head fondly, and carry Mila upstairs into her room.
Instead of changing her into some pajamas, I just strip her down to a diaper. She fusses for a second when I lay her in her crib, but stops when I place her pacifier back in her mouth. "Love you, baby." I whisper, turning on the baby monitor as I leave the room.
While Mila's asleep, I decide to get some dinner ready. The boys help me with each of my tasks, eating food out of the pans as they go. I eventually get fed up and kick them out of the kitchen. "There won't be any dinner left at this rate. Go." I wave them away, much to their displeasure. Theo laughs as he takes a sip of his scotch saying, "You know how teenage boys are. They're bottomless pits. They eat everything and anything."
"They were being helpful at first, then the steak started cooking and they turn into beasts." I grumble as I finish chopping up the lettuce for our steak tacos. Nachos are finishing up in the oven, as well. I made sure I made a meal that Mila doesn't like, so she wouldn't be tempted to eat any with her sore throat. My little girl hates steak for some odd reason. It might be because her teeth aren't strong enough to chew the meat.
Theo laughs and pulls the nachos out of the oven when the timer beeps. Right as I'm about to yell for the boys go come down, Mila's tiny cry comes through the baby monitor. "You go get her and I'll get the boys." Theo tells me. I don't waste a second, rushing up the stairs and into Mila's nursery. When I walk in, she's sitting up on her bottom and rubbing tears out of her eyes. Her chubby cheeks are red from her cries.
"Somebody's not too happy to be awake." I coo as I lift her into my arms. Mila lays her head down on my shoulder, then proceeds to cough right in my ear. I just know that cough hurt her throat. My guess was right when Mila whispers in the tiniest, raspiest voice, "Owie."
"Do you want to come downstairs with Mama and have a pop pop?" Theo found these awesome sugar free popsicles at the grocery store. Mila usually loves them, but she shakes her head at my offer. "Wan chur bewbie." I'm surprised she wants to nurse. She didn't want to at the hospital. "Okay, you can have my boobie. Let's go downstairs so Mama can eat while you drink."
Theo and the boys are waiting for me at the table once we get there. Their plates are full, but untouched. "Go ahead you guys." I tell them, completely forgetting about the giant stuffed animal in the living room. Mila spots it, though. She sits up in my arms and points to the bear. "Is dat Miwa's?"
"Yes it did. We bought it for you, sissy." Kai tells her proudly. Mila wiggles to get out of my arms. I set her down on the floor and she scratches her belly before going to snuggle up with her bear. "Tank chu brobbers." She mumbles tiredly as she promptly falls back asleep. West's eyes widen in surprise as he whisper-shouts, "She said 'brobbers' with an S at the end! That's plural! She called me her brother!"
West's reaction is pure and heartfelt. I love it. Kai snuggles into his boyfriends side and nods. "Yes, she did. What did you expect, though? You two argue like brother and sister. She may give you a bunch of sass and attitude, but at the end of the day she loves you. Sass and attitude is Mila's personality. I mean, she can even go toe to toe with Mom." Kai points at me and I readily agree. That girls attitude is something else. Never met anybody so small, yet so sassy.
"I'm glad to be 'brobber', then." West jokes, mispronouncing the world like Mila does. Another person totally wrapped around her tiny finger. It's hard to find somebody who doesn't get attached to my little pea. She's just too cute with a personality to match.
