As it turns out, a lot can go wrong. First, the cabin still had people in it when we arrived. We ended up having to rent a hotel for the night.

Then, we arrive back to the cabin only to find the previous people left it in a wreck. There was trash everywhere and the sheets hadn't been changed.

Finally, Mila kept blowing up our phones every fifteen minutes. I had to message Barb to take away her iPad.

Our romantic getaway turned into a romantic shit show. When we were finally able to get into the cabin, the heating stopped working. Theo and I were forced to head back to the hotel.

After all the driving that happened in deep snow, we were both too on edge to do anything remotely sexual. We ended up eating a pizza and crashing on the bed.

I guess our bodies just needed some time to rest after waking up early. Having Mila is hard. I can't remember the last time we've had a full nights sleep. It was nice to catch up on some rest, but I would've loved for this to actually be a romantic trip.

My kids are my life and I couldn't imagine a world without Mila, Kai, or West in it. So, no, I don't have any regrets about Mila and having to wake up early.

"We should get going soon." Theo states from his side of the bed.

We didn't even unpack our suitcases. Sighing, I stand and throw on a pair of thick leggings. Back into the cold we go.

If I thought Seattle's winter was freezing, it has nothing on Colorado's.

"I promise we'll have a romantic trip sometime soon. An actual trip where I can spend the majority of our time in between your legs." Theo throws a wink my way as my cheeks turn bright red.

"Is that a promise?" I flirt back.

"A hundred percent." Theo stands and grabs his jacket, throwing it on.

Quicker than I would like, we're checking out and back on the road. I texted Kai that we'll be back later tonight and to not tell Mila.

If he does, she'll be bouncing off the walls all day long. As much as Barb loves her granddaughter, I know she'll be happy to have her house back to herself. Mila can be a lot to handle on a good day.

"I can't wait to see how our baby will react when she sees us. She'll probably never let us out of her sight again." Theo chuckles to himself, hitting the turn signal.

"We just got her to leave us alone in the bathroom too."

It's true. Mila has no concept of personal space. Wherever Theo and I are, she has to be there too. We worked with her diligently just so we could have some time alone to pee.

That's probably all gone down the drain.

"I'm never going to be able to shit alone again." Theo playfully groans while I giggle.

The drive back to Barbs house is filled with anxious excitement. I have to keep telling Theo to slow it down. He's rushing to get back to the kids.
