Chapter 06: Fight!

Mint was casually minding her own business, when one of her classmates came to her and snatched the paper she was writing.

"Hey, give it back!" She said, "Nahhh... I dont think so."

"Give me back my paper, Tin." She said and reached out for her paper.

"Nope!" The boy said, "Give me or else!"

"Or else what? Call your papa?" He sarcastically said, "Give me my paper you moron!"

"Oh, look what she was drawing here. A mommy...." Tin said and showed it to everyone. "Awwie but our little Mint here doesn't have one!"

"Really? Oh, right. You do have one but, she left you to your papa because, she doesn't want you, anyway."

He laughed and everyone just looked at him with a disgust in their face but he never payed attention and ripped off the paper.

"Oops, sorry my hand's just slipped!" He said and continued laughing.

Mint finally lost it and punched him in the face. It was so strong that Tin was pushed to the ground, holding his cheek.

"One more word about my mom and i will definitely punch you again." She said, the teacher went to the two kids when she went back to the room.

She held Mint's shoulder and tried to calm her down.

--

Arthit's eyes widened as soon as he heard Ms. Tan told to him that his daughter gotten into a fight.

Luckily, Kongpob wasn't around at the time, and he, quickly packed his things and rushed to his car.

He started off his engine and rode off.

He was panicking. It was the first time he heard that Mint gotten into a fight.

"Ms. Tan." He said and saw Mint at the corner.

"Oh, there you are, Mr. Rojnapat." Ms. Tan said, and he earned a glare from the boy's mother.

"Mint, what did you do?" He asked, in a soft tone as possible so that Mint wouldn't get scared. "Look, Mr."

He faced the mother of Tin. "Your daughter here punched my son."

"Well, Mrs. I know my daughter well. She may have reason to do it." He explained.

"Look, Mr. My son here is well behaved. I don't know what you have thought to your daughter and just punch my son, suddenly."

"Well, Mr. Rojnapat, Mrs. Looksorn. The whole class actually saw what happened and told me that, Tin was the one who started." The teacher said, softly.

Mint on the other hand was hiding behind her papa's back.

"How? My son was well behaved!" She repeatedly said.

"Ma'am, you see, your son here have been bullying a lot of students and he didn't even say sorry." The teacher said.

After a few minutes of discussion, the mother was now convinced of her son's behavior.

After that, she have been apologized to Arthit and other parents whom her son bullied.

On the way home, Mint was not on her usual self. She have been silent throughout the journey and Arthit was also silent till they went home.

"Mint, why did you even punched him?" He asked as he, didn't know why his daughter did it.

"Papa. Does mama didn't want me?" She asked. Arthit couldn't utter a word. "Is that why she left me?" She asked. He could hear his daughter sobbing.

"Mama loves you dear." He said, trying to coax her.

"Then, where is she, papa?" She asked. "Well, she...." Now, Arthit couldn't find an alibi now.

"Papa, where is mama?"

He squats down and hugged her. "She....just went to work, sweetheart. Don't worry, you would meet her after you grow up." He lied.

"Papa, don't lie to me." She said, and cried again. "She never came back to me, she might have never loved me at all!" She said, and cried louder.

Mint have been asking for her (non-existent) mama, eversince her classmates have asked her.

Arthit indeed was full of this drama, but, just like then, he couldn't utter a word from his mouth.

He hugged her tight and led the both of them into her bedroom.

"Don't cry, sweetie. Don't cry." He coax her. He rubbed her bag and sang her a song that he used to sing when she was a baby.

And, after a few minutes, Mint was finally drifted off on her dreamland.

Arthit then, gently laid her to her bed and tuck her into bed. He just kissed her forehead and went outside.

He sat to the sofa, spaced out. He have been thinking if, will he tell her or not. He have been so stressed and confused lately.

But then, his thoughts were vanished away when, his phone rang.

He immediately picked it up as he knows who was it.

"Hey, Arthit. How are you?"

"Not so good Knot."

"Not so good? Why, what happened?"

"It was Kongpob. He is the director now at our company. You know, I have been stressing allot, these days. Mint have been asking for her mama. She even gotten into a fight earlier because of her classmate told her that her mama doesn't love her." He said and chuckled.

"Well, have you told her yet?" Knot asked and he sighted.

"No, not yet."  He said, and a sight came out.

"Arthit, you can't hide it from her. Especially, she even gotten into a fight because she have been looking for the non-existent woman that she have been asking about.

Arthit, your daughter deserves to know the truth."

Knot's advice occupied his mind.

"But, Knot. I am not ready for this, especially, right now. Right now that her father was back."

"Arthit, it was just like i told you before, there will always be a way for them to meet and they both deserve the truth." Knot scolded him.

Arthit thinks twice. He don't know what to say to Mint, everytime she asks and now, he dont even know on how will he even gave Kongpob everyday.

"Knot. Do you really think that it was easy for them to understand my condition? It wasn't Knot." He hissed.

"I know, it wasn't but if you would look to the other side, don't you think that both, father and daughter will eventually meet?

You know, Arthit. Even if you wouldn't never tell to the both of them the truth, they still share the same blood. They were still be connected to one another." Knot said again.

"But, i couldn't just bring up the fact that the mama that she have been looking for, was actually me." He retorted.

He knows to himself that, what Knot was saying to him was right, but from his perspective, he knows it would be hard to tell them both the truth and eventually, the two might think that he was a freak.

"Papa?"

Arthit looked back in shock when he heard a voice at his back.

"Mint.."
