Chapter 8

Issue

You should've told me there's someone else. I would've stopped sooner.

I can't help but to arch my brow at Jiro's recent post, four hours ago. I prevented myself from commenting on anything that would add more fuel to the fire. A lot of girls commented and consoled him, girls who don't know the truth.

A random comment even said, 'srsly? should've made you stop before entertaining another.'

I sighed. But my eyes widened when I saw Lau's comment on his post. Walang social media presence si Lau at madalas siyang lowkey lang sa social media maliban sa messenger. I'm even surprised that she activated her account again. Madalas kasi siyang busy.

Lau Osmeña: 'She was kind enough not to expose you, so be grateful.

Followed by another.

Lau Osmeña: 'she's kind enough to have patience that long. pero hindi ako katulad niya, kaya ayusin mo desisyon mo sa buhay."

Maging si Claire ay nagcomment rin.

Claire Arqueza: 'Anong 'you should've told me?' Sinabihan ka na niya, last year pa nga. Anong dina-drama mo jan? Nagpapaka-sadboi ka ba?'

Napasapo na lang ako ng noo. These two are the warriors among us. Sobrang tapang nilang dalawa. I can even hear their voices through their comments. Halatang nawawalan na rin ng pasensya.

But Satari's comment is somewhat funny.

Satari Mallorca: Sa darating na eleksiyon! Nasa Hiñago ang aking boto!

Ewan ko, double meaning ata iyon. Her father will probably run for governor position this year, or maybe she's rooting for Deo. Si Deo na hindi naman nanliligaw.

Dinudumog yung comment nilang tatlo. But I have never seen them reply. Because I know, they're waiting for me to break my silence, which I'll never do.

"Hey," panimula ko sa mahinang boses.

I'm actually nervous dahil ako ang tumawag. I don't do this kind of stuff but I have to do it. To apologize. I have no choice but to get his number from Satari. Ngayon alam na ni Satari na totoo nga ang balita. She was shocked and I can say that she didn't expect that. Nababaan pa nga ako ng tawag, in the end I had to get from Claire.

"Wait a sec please, I'll be moving somewhere quiet," he matched the tone of my voice. "Pasensiya na maingay ang mga pinsan ko..."

It sounded like they are teasing him.

Seconds later, he spoke. "You're not fine aren't you?"

"Nasaan ka na?"

"Sa pool lounge."

"I'm annoyed at the situation," I sighed while walking my bed and dive in it.

"Yeah, they're talking bad about you."

"They're talking bad about me, but I know it won't last long," I assured. "It will be clarified within a week. How about you? Are you okay? Hindi ka naman tinatanong tungkol sa akin hindi ba?"

He chuckled. "Oh you're asking?"

"Malamang." I clarified. "We ate out together, as friends without any malice and then—," he cutted me off.

"So we're friends?" I feel his smile through his voice. "Can we be more than friends?"

"Nagbibiro ka ba, Deo?"
