Cersei ran, her legs burning as her breath were heavy. The hammering of her heart, her eyes trained on the fire that was growing in the village.

She can hear the screaming of Technoblade from behind her but her focus was what would be in front of her. She dreaded loss, and what with limited people in her life she didn't want to lose anyone.

So as the ruler of the Fires cryptically told her that Dream was in danger, she didn't waste anytime. Despite knowing how deadly fire was to her, she jumped over burning logs and dodged falling branches and leaves that were on fire.

She didn't stop and she didn't thought of stopping until she saw him. Until he was safe. And after a whole lot of jumping and dodging and what felt like was the death of her, she saw him.

Lying in the middle of the burning forest was Dream, his mask cracked showing that he was passed out. His green hoodie ripped and burn. It broke and angered her heart. "Stupid. You are so stupid." She growled as she jumped over the fire and slid to land next to him.

Taking off the mask, she threw it to the side and she cupped his cheeks. She can hear the branches falling, feel the fire nearing but the tears started to fall. She didn't know what to do, it felt like the end, Dream was barely breathing and then suddenly-

"Cersei!" Techno yelled as he shook her. Her eyes opened as she gasped. Tears flowing down her cheeks as she frantically looked around as the worry form her dream resurfaced.

She was about to jump off the bed but Techno grabbed her waist, hugging her from behind she collapsed on the floor to her knees as sobs escaped her lips.

Techno shushed her as she gripped her hands, "Breath." He said. "Techno-" "Breath." He instructed her. She shook her head, "Dream."

That was the only thing she said. That was enough for Techno to look up to Wilbur and nodded. The young President rushed out of the room and ran to where the Dream Team resides.

But even before he could knock, Dream opened the door. Covered in sweat, Wilbur was stunned to see that he wasn't wearing his mask.

Green eyes stared at the young Soot, "Cersei." Wilbur whispered. Dream's jaws clenched as he pushed pass him, rushing to where he can hear her sobs.

Dream's heart was hammering with worry, he felt it. Her pain, worry and heartbreak. There was always a connection with Dream and Cersei. They were deemed to be twin flames, in another life some people called them soulmates but the Goddess of Death merely interwoven their souls but they were never meant to love each other which was what ruined that connection. But it wasn't like they knew any better.

The moment he reached her room, the sobs were muffled. Pushing past the people that crowded her room he entered, just in time to hear Techno consoling her.

"It's fine." His monotone voice said, but despite being monotone it held so much emotion. "Everything is within my calculations." He said. The same words that he would tell her.

Cersei shook her head as the tears didn't stop. Until she felt him, crouching in front of her. "C." Dream said. She looked up and saw green eyes staring back at her. "I'm right here." He whispered.

Her lips trembled as Techno let go of her. Crashing into his arms, she sobbed as Dream closed his eyes in pain. "It's fine. We're right here." He said as Techno kissed her head.

The scene being witnessed by the few people that was awake that night. Techno looked by her door and sighed. He stood up and motioned for them to leave, him following. Clearly the three had some explaining to do.

When her door closed Dream carried Cersei to her bed. She had her eyes closed, scared that when she opens it they would be in the middle of the forrest again.

"You're okay. I'm okay." he whispered as he squeezed his hand. "It was the same thing again. God its been so long since the last one." She cried out.

"Open your eyes." He instructed. Cersei followed, staring into his green ones. "Its just a dream." He said. She was about to retort, "Old memories. I was stupid and didn't listen to you but now its different okay?" he asked.

"I promised to save and protect George but I think I made a silent promise to do that to you years ago. I failed." She said as their eyes gazed to his wrist. He shook his head, "Not anymore. I felt your pain again that means our little soul fairy fixed this." He said as he motioned to her heart.

As they stared at each other's eyes, it was different. No more love, well romantic love was present. But they knew, they knew they had each other in such a different way as before. They realized that they failed because they weren't made to be together. They were made to be with other people and Cersei knew that. Dream knew that.

Dream saw that. "We don't have to love each other like that to take care and protect each other C. You know that." He said. She hummed and leaned her head on his shoulder. He chuckled and smoothened down her hair.

"George-" "Is fine. Techno will explain." He cut her off. She bit her tongue, not wanting to ask about the problem that may arise from the raven haired boy that she was starting to get fond off.

But Dream felt it. He laughed and smiled to himself, wrapping an arm around her, "He'll understand." He said. She didn't say anything, she just fiddled with her sheets.

Silence engulfed the, Dream chuckled making her to look up at him. He looked down at her, "It's funny." He said. Cersei raised an eyebrow at him. He smiled at her, "You never even looked at me like that, it's weird."

"Like what?" she asked. Dream raised an eyebrow at her, "With so much fear and worry." He said. Cersei snickered, "What's so funny about having a weakness." She grumbled.

Dream smirked, Cersei had just admitted to have his dear friend as her weakness. "Because the way you look at him like that shows that it melted your heart enough to let him in and you worry and fear for his life. More than you ever feared for mine." He said.

Cersei stared at him, she knew he wasn't wrong. But was she going to admit that? No. She doesn't have to, from the way Dream was looking at her, she knew that he knew. He was always the one who saw right through her. So it was going to be a losing battle if she did fight him in that.

She huffed, "Whatever." She said. This made Dream laugh and shake his head. Cersei will be stubborn and Sapnap will challenge her patience but he thinks it would be good. For the both of them.
