"So where did you leave Caius, brother?" Aro held a slightly smug look.

Aro finally broke the silence once Madi's soft snores filled the room. It didn't take long for Madi to fall asleep between the two kings. Her head rested on Aro's chest while Marcus kept his hand entwined with Madi's hand.

"Caius thought it would be best to hunt before our departure," Marcus voiced, keeping his tone void of emotions.

"So you ditched him." Aro's tone was dripping with amusement.

Marcus decided to stay silent. He wasn't keen on boosting Aro's enjoyment. So instead, he kept his focus on the rolling credits.

"You know, my date with Madeline was going well before you came along." Aro's tone dramatically shifted. It was apparent Marcus's silence wasn't deterring him.

"I was under the impression that your date with Madeline was finished," Marcus replied inattentively, rubbing small circles on the back of Madi's hand.

"Tsk, I've known you for centuries, brother, don't think you can fool me." Aro was no longer impressed with Marcus's aloof behavior.

Marcus paid no attention to responding to Aro's comment. Instead, they sat in silence. Only the casual snore that would escape Madi's mouth broke the silence.

"How do you suppose Caius will react when he returns to the Cullens?" Aro questioned, looking down at Madi's sleeping form.

"How does Caius usually react to unexpected events?" Marcus noticed the glint of enjoyment pass Aro's eyes from his response.

Madi slowly turns her body, positioning her back to face Aro while using Marcus's shoulders as a pillow.

"I think I will take Madi somewhere before we leave." Marcus voiced out.

"Where will that may be, brother, the living room?"

Marcus shoots Aro a dirty look.

"Madi and I crave intimacy and to strengthen our bond."

Aro paused for a moment taking in Marcus's words.

"I think it would be best if we all share this limited time," Aro said.

Marcus wasn't able to respond to the sound of a window opening. Instead, the two kings moved their heads towards this window to see a tall figure entering.

"Have you forgotten our pact?" Caius fumed.

Madeline Pov

I think I had one of the best sleep of my life. I slowly woke up to having my head against someone's shoulders. Keeping my eyes closed, I move my body to be entirely against the cold figure. As I settled my body, I felt arms wrapped around me.

"Buongiorno," a voiced mummured.

I immediately knew that I was in Marcus's arms once he spoke those words.

"Buonnotte," I mumbled, pressing my face against his chest.

Marcus lets out a slight chuckle from my response. Then, I feel a different hand slightly move the hair from my shoulders, causing me to be aware of Aro's presence.

" If you sleep all day, you will miss our departure." Aro's voice joined in.

I sighed and slowly sat up to stretch. Then, opening my eyes, I became quickly aware of Caius's presence. Caius was sitting in my window nook with a pissed expression displayed on his face. It wasn't the best scene to look at right away.

"Are you all leaving now?" I asked, failing to cover my disappointment.

Caius seemed to pick up on my tone, and a sly expression came over him. " Attached already."

"Speak for yourself," I mumbled out, red in the face.

Caius wasn't wrong. I think I have gotten myself attached to them already. It intimidated me how quickly I found myself entwined with them. The idea of them leaving made me feel down.

"One of the many effects mates have on each other," Aro spoke out.

"Does it affect every mate the same?" Turning my head to face Aro.

Aro paused a bit before answering, "From my understanding, it can affect everyone differently, but vampires tend to feel more of the bond than humans."

I furrowed my brows. "Why?"

"There are many different theories on the subject," Aro replies, glancing at Marcus.

"Marcus believes it has to do with our lack of human morality," Aro finishes with a bit of taunting in his tone.

"Maybe the gods took pity on us," Marcus softly spoke.

" Is it common to find your mate as human?" I questioned, furrowing my brows in the process.

"It's a mix per se. It is more irregular finding your mate in general. Although sharing a mate with others is unheard of." Marcus answered slowly.

"So we are unique?" I said with hesitation.

I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the new information. I was hoping there were cases of multiple mates. Maybe it would help me find a reason that made me be bound to all three of them.

"Indeed we are, cara mia," Aro grabs my hand, giving it a light kiss.

"When do you leave?" I ask.

"At dusk, so until then, we have time. That is, of course, you want to come with?" Aro replies with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

I rolled my eyes at him and moved out of the bed.

"It's spring break which means school is almost over, and then I'll be in Italy."

I had only a few more months till I had to say goodbye to my everyday life and be whisked away. As much as I was getting attached to them, I had eternity with them, but Charlie and my friends were limited.

"Of course, I wouldn't want to stray from our arrangement," Aro replies smoothly.

"That would be unfortunate," playing along with Aro theatrics.

I headed towards my closet to pick out some clothes for the day. I wasn't too worried about what I would wear as long as it was comfy.

"I am going to get ready for the day. When I get back, can we hang out?"

The moments those words left my mouth, I wanted to slap myself. I sound so shy. I couldn't help but feel irritated about my wording as well.

"I will be free, but my brothers must be thirsty from holding out hunting," Caius said, passing a cold expression toward Aro and Marcus.

"Don't fret about me, brother. I planned to stay anyway," Aro spoke, giving him a wide smile.

"Marcus, I suppose you're staying as well," Caius said with a disgruntled look.

Marcus simply nodded his head and grabbed the tv remote. I found it amusing how they blatantly ignored Caius's hidden request.

"Okay, I will be back then," I tell them, breaking Caius's glare from his brothers.

But, before I could make it to my door, Caius suddenly blocked my path, causing me to jump a tiny bit. My action caused Caius to smirk.

" I wasn't able to say good morning," He tells me softly, pulling me into a swift kiss.

I couldn't note the full effects of Caius's lips before Caius swiftly withdrew his lips from mine, leaving me unfulfilled. However, the dismay changed into embarrassment when I realized Marcus and Aro were watching.

I didn't give them a chance to say anything before heading out of my room.
