adella watched the machine past the window with wide eyes, hearing the cracking of the gate being re-opened in the hands of people who couldn't even wish to control something as powerful as it was. robin looked back at the girl who was watching over her shoulder and her eyebrows furrowed at the fear she could see swirling in her iris's.

"the gate." dustin and steve said to one another.

"let's go." adella exhaled shakily and started walking down the steps, everyone following.

"i don't understand. you've seen this before?" robin questioned.

"not exactly." steve answered.

"then what, exactly?" robin asked quickly, needing answers.

"all you need to know is it's bad." dustin spoke up.

"really bad." adella agreed.

"like, end-of-the-human-race-as-we-know-it kind of bad." dustin explained shortly.

"and you know about this how?" robin demanded.

"um, steve? where's your russian friend?" erica inquired and they turned to see the russian steve knocked out no longer passed out on the floor.

an alarm started to blare and steve swore under his breath before checking the centre of the base where he saw many other russians coming together around the one steve took down. they were all speaking in russian and then saw steve, yelling for him to stop there.

steve slammed the door closed, "shit. go, go, go, go!"

"shit." dustin muttered as they all sped up the steps and through the first door before they went through a second.

they ended up in the control room and many russian scientists looked back at them as steve continued to yell, 'shit!'. adella gestured down some steps and then ran, dustin quickly joining her side as the rest followed them down the stairs while the russsian guards chased them.

dustin shrieked and shoved a guard into the railing as adella grabbed robin's hand and pulled her along quicker. they ran until they got to the end of the machine, the power lighting up their faces as it basted into the wall.

"holy shit! holy shit! holy shit! holy shit! holy shit! shit! holy shit! holy shit! holy shit!!" dustin screeched.

"this way!" steve yelled and ran down some stairs that split off from the thin pathway they were on.

steve shoved a guard down to the floor and then shoved some barrels into some approaching them. more came and adella paused, closing her eyes which made robin yell at her. robin's yells faded when multiple guards coming from them dropped to the floor with snapped necks and bleeding eyes.

"oh, my god!" robin yelled and adella stumbled to run again, feeling drained after killing a group of the guards. "this way! come on, quick!"

"hold the door!" steve yelled as they all rushed into a smaller room. he pressed his back to the door to keep the russians from getting to them.

"oh, my god. you don't look very good." robin mumbled as adella placed a hand on the wall, breathing heavily. "i mean, you look ill, not bad!"

"robin!" steve shouted and his co-worker rushed to put weight on the door beside him.

"we need to go." dustin stated and grabbed adella's hand, pulling her towards the grate where erica was waiting after pulling it off the floor to reveal a vent.

"come on!" adella called, helping erica down.

"go! just get out of here!" steve ordered.

"go, come on, now!" dustin continued.

"no! just go get some help, okay?" steve instructed. "what are you doing!?"

"go!" both robin and steve yelled as adella locked eyes with robin.

"i won't forget you!" dustin cried as he got into the vent.

"go!" they yelled again and adella followed dustin into the vent, slamming the grate down on top of them.

the guards burst through the door and robin and steve were flung backwards on their backs as the russians aimed their guns at them. they held their hands up in surrender as the guns cocked, now trapped with them.
