adella looked around at the cabin she was in, recognising it as her dads. wind blew through the open windows before it suddenly got rougher and colder. she glanced up and saw the hole in the ceiling that the mind flayer had caused back. her eyebrows furrowed, remembering that she had boarded it up.

the sound of a creaking door snapped her attention to behind her and she span on her heels, turning to face el's door which was being pulled open. el walked out and smiled at her sister, only confusing her further. el's nose started to bleed from both nostrils and then her ears bled followed by her eyes.

"you left me alone and now i am in danger." el said coldly, stepping towards adella who was frozen in her place. "you have never helped me. you were selfish to stay in hawkins and abandon me. it was selfish of you to not help hop."

"what?" adella asked in confusion as her sister glared into her soul.

"you could have helped him but you chose not to." el continued. "why? why did you leave us?"

adella woke up sharply, pushing herself up off the floor of nancy's basement. robin stirred beside her, her arm still loosely around adella's waist. the cuban woman wiped sweat from her forehead and exhaled shakily, bringing her knees up to her chest and placing her chin on her knees, messing with the material of her jeans. she wasn't so sure her nightmares were just a coincidence anymore.

"dustin, can you hear me?" eddie asked through the walkie-talkie. "dustin? earth to dustin."

adella got up and grabbed the walkie-talkie, pulling the antenna up, "hey, it's adella."

"hopper! hey. um, um gonna need a food delivery, like, really soon, unless you want me going out into the world." eddie said.

"no. no, don't do that. just stay out and we'll be there as soon as we can." adella yawned, wiping the back of her neck with her palm.

"yeah, yeah, yeah. listen, um... can you pick me up a six-pack?" eddie requested.

"drinking. that's the best idea you have, right now?" adella chuckled.

"i know, it's stupid as shit. but a cold beer would really calm my jangled nerves." eddie replied.

"you're in a drug dealer's house, shouldn't there be other things to calm your nerves?" adella mused.

"the po-po took it all when he was arrested." eddie hummed.

"hey, where's max?" nancy asked adella, having just woke up herself.

adella looked around the basement, "shit, fuck! eddie, i'm gonna have to call you back."

"don't you da- hopper! hop-"

adella placed the walkie-talkie down as nancy shook dustin's shoulders, "dustin! wake up!"

"what?" dustin asked sleepily, accidents bashing his head on the tv behind him.

"aren't you supposed to be on max watch?" nancy demanded.

"yep. yep, yep, yep. sorry." dustin rubbed his eyes.

"where is she?" adella questioned.

"she's right there." he pointed to the empty couch. "a second ago. i swear, i just dozed off for... an hour."

the group of three rushed out of the basement quickly i got eu kitchen and calmed seeing max at the table with holly, drawing. karen greeted them, "morning, guys. everything okay?"

"yeah. yeah, everything's okay." nancy breathed.

"i think it's so sweet that you guys are sticking together like this." karen smiled, placing some pancakes onto a plate.

"could try sticking together at a different house for a change." ted spoke up, reading the paper.

nancy walked to max as karen glared at her husband before looking to dustin and adella, "you know you're welcome here anytime."

"totally. you're like family." dustin smiled as adella gave karen a grin. "may we?"

"absolutely." karen nodded when dustin gestured to the cooked food.

"yeah, why not? take us for all we're worth." ted remarked.

"okay." dustin agree cheekily and adella snorted as she placed some bacon on her plate with a pancake.

"gracias." adella smiled at karen who returned it kindly as adella and dustin went to sit at the table with max, nancy and holly.

"he seemed surprised, almost. like he did want me there." max was saying as they sat down.

"maybe you infiltrated his mind." dustin suggested. "he invaded your mind, right? is it that big of a leap to suggest you somehow wound up in his? like freddie krueger's boiler room!"

"freddie krueger?" holly asked.

"he's a super burned-up dude with razors for fingers." dustin explained. "and he kills you in your dreams."

"dustin, seriously?" nancy snapped and glanced at holly making dustin catch on.

"sorry. it's a movie." dustin said.

"it's not real." adella added, looking at the young blonde as she ate some bacon.

"just... think about it. what if you somehow unlocked a back door to vecna's world? like, maybe the answer we're looking for is somewhere in this incredibly vague drawing." dustin mused, picking up one of max's many drawings. "god, we need will."

"yeah, no shit. but i tried them again this morning, and it's the same busy signal." max said and adella glanced down at her plate nervously.

nancy picked up a drawing, "is this a window?"

"yeah." max replied.

"stained glass with roses." nancy mumbled.

"yeah. see? i'm not so terrible after all." max said to dustin and adella who both grimaced in disagreement.

"yeah, well, it helps that i've seen it before." nancy muttered and started to fold drawings until the final product was a creepy, broken house with a grandfather clock floating above it.

"it's pieces of a house," max hummed.

"not a random one. it's victor creel's." adella chimed in when she recognised the finished puzzle.

nancy stood up and grabbed the sheets of paper making dustin look at her, "where're you going?"

"waking the others." nancy said and adella rushed off to the basement to help.

adella gently shook robin's shoulder and the sandy-blonde grumbled in annoyance, "mi amor, wake up."

"why?" robin whined.

"because drawings apparently have all the answers we need in this world. we also found a clue about where vecna's weird, child-killing mind is."

"oh, is that all?"
